I’ve heard he may be interested. My source is not at all credible, but who knows!! Would be a great fit for HC.

The Yale job pays well, most definitely better than HC's. I don't think the FCS playoffs in and of themselves would be that enticing to him. Not like a coordinator at a BCS school or a job comparable to Chesney's new one. So what would be the reason he'd leave there (other than being pushed out, which given he just won the Ivy League, seems like a stretch)?

I'm sure its a very comfortable job that pays well. And he's not going to have to worry about his job if he slumps a bit and averages a 3rd or 4th place finish in the Ivy the next 4 years. But if he has upwaed aspirations, it's clear that HC is a better springboard to the next level. Despite 2 straight Ivy titles, I didn't see any private jets getting tracked in and out of Tweed Airport in New Haven!

Reno to HC discussed (and dismissed) on voy. www.voy.com/152805/214998.htmlThey [voy] also have a thread about Reno going to Stony Brook. Also a thread about the rivalry and unrivaled gridiron success of Darien-New Canaan.

Well, my mailman's goldfish had a dream that Bill Belichick was going to be the next HC coach. Just sayin'. I have to run. I have an appointment to have my "Chesney will be at HC in 2024" tattoo removed.

Perhaps Chuck Priore to Holy Cross? After all, his brother coaches at Penn and knows Tony Reno.

It bothers me that most perceive HC to be a step below the Yale job. Why is that? Not knowing the salary differential, which may be the reason, from a football perspective it’s clearly a step up. Scholarships and postseason play.

Yale has ~80 scholarship equivalents. Don’t let non athletic grant stuff fool you. They can give a full ride to any HH with an AGI under 150k (huge swath of the country) and partials all the way up to 250k (over 90% of the country). Plus other non financial aid pools to play with.

Do you think Chesney provided any guidance? Not sure if that would be appropriate, but it’s a real possibility that he had a convo with Kit a couple years ago that he was gonna move on. In that case if I were Kit I’d be happy to hear what Ches thought as the next step.

I think any influence he may had would have been limited to coaches he wouldnt be taking with him and maybe a recommendation towards Coach James as interim coach

Then that's a clear change from the dark ages 50 years ago.........i lived it.....I was accepted to 3 Ivies......no money......" we do not have athletic grants-in-aid " was the mantra my family and I heard over and over again......in part, that fueled my decision to go to HC, which clearly turned out to be the right decision for a million reasons 😊
