Final score HC 55-43, another ugly win. Truly HC is a bad offenive team, but a really good defensive team. A lot of bunnies missed

Mystified as to why BPC never saw the ball in the second half o shots I think. HC going to have major issues in league play if they can't kee Berger (16 mins) & Allen (14 mins) on the floor although Meg, Callie & Munt (7 rebs) gave them some good mins today.

Oh it doesn't fit your narrative that HC sucks at every sport. Your team lost again! Go back to crying in the Merrimack River!

What has happened to PL women’s bball ? - in addition to our lackluster performance today, Army (2-7) lost to Binghamton and AU (2-8) lost to UMBC- looks to me like it’s Lehigh, BU and then everyone else with HC leading the others. After our fast start shooting today we shot 12 of 51 (23 pct) over the last 3 plus quarters - I don’t know how this is happening

Great seeing the kids in the stands actually rooting for HC. That has not always been the case.

By your logic that you used in another thread you pu-pued the Holy Cross wins over Stonehill and UML. Lehigh only beat Stonehill by 12 (HC won by 27) and BU needed a buzzer beater to beater UML (HC won by 10). Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships (as proven last year).

Last time I checked we’re all entitled to our opinion here - Lehigh is 8-2 with losses only on the road at Bowling Green (who have a good team) and Pitt. BU is 7-3 with a win over previously unbeaten Harvard and the trailed at ranked Colorado by only 4 points after 3 qtrs (before the Buffs went off in the 4th) Are you opining that HC would have fared as well against their schedules ? I’m rooting for HC to beat all PL opponents.

Yes I think they would of fared the same since BU's non conference SOS ranks 200 in the NCAA and Lehigh's is 351...HC's is 190...Lehigh's probably had one of the easiest schedules in the nation up until this point. stats.ncaa.org/selection_rankings/nitty_gritties/34569

I have no idea what will happen once PL plays starts. But as of today, purplehaze’s analysis is right on the money. There is no way that an objective observer wouldn’t have Lehigh and Boston University as the top two teams right now. That is also the opinion of the credible rating models, such as Massey. as I mentioned, that may change as we get into the PL part of the schedule.

This punk behavior all playing out in front of a bunch of elementary school children. Curious if Merrimack’s #10 was involved in this stuff. At Bucknell the other day, she occasionally taunted opposing players, despite her team trailing by double digits most of the game. The refs finally t’d her up after she hit a basket and taunted the Bucknell players as they went up the court. Ultimately, her team lost by 20.

#2,#14 and #22 were the Merimack players charged with fouls at the 0:11 incident. #2 and #14 were the more aggressive after the whistle with the female official signalling a "T" after #2's activities and words . The box score oddly does not indicate a technical being called (obviosly an an omission ? )

Cara has gone from 37% to 32% to 25% shooting threes. She's had injuries which can effect the stroke. Keep launching them. Those long range heaves are less expensive on a dominant rebounding team.
Early on Munt had a nice put back playing in Allen's usual spot. I wonder how Allen's minutes will be distributed among Munt, Wright, Donnelly and Cahalen next year. We haven't seen enough of the freshmen to determine how they will fit into the three seniors' minutes next season. We need several PL blowouts to scout the newcomers.
Historically HC has had periodic Freshmen who step right in from Maggie Fontanna to Avery to Kaitlyn Flanagan. There is also the portal, so it will be interesting to see how BPC, Allen and McCormack will be replaced next season.

The women have played 2200 minutes and the freshmen have played a total of 51. Worrisome.

I'm not that surprised, it is a team with 3 senior starters, plus significant mins from their juniors & sophmores. Lots of opportunities for playing time next year.

Yes, the minutes have been very limited for the frosh and it’s hard to play in garbage time - but, I think there’s a reason the coach has not used any of the three when a game is undecided. I hope that changes during league play

If Coach had a Kaitlin Flanagan or Simone Forman in the group or if an HC starter or two were out we'd see more floor time from them but this is classic four year roster management that many coaches stuck in a portal revolving door would love to utilize.
"The best thing about freshman is they turn into sophomores" -a former long term HC WBB coach.
Hopefully we will win a few or more PL tilts with battle tested senior leadership.

The kids attending on education day would have loved the HC band, cheer and dance squads especially if they came up with audience participation dance moves. But this is core academic time and as Fr. JEB (My high school Priest was Diocesan Fr. John Brooks Shea who always said Fr. Brooks was only two thirds of him) said we aren't in the entertainment business.
If the Nativity School has a band the kids would surely love them next year. Another thought for half time or any break would be four HC Quarterbacks, two each at either end of the court zipping spirals to each other, or maybe to receivers who would hand it back to the QBs. When you are little and throwing wayward pop-ups with the football, that would be very impressive to see.
