The PL lets the tension rise before HC-BU on January 29 and March 2. Let's hope this year's wbb team is like the RW mbb teams, better at the end of the season than at the start.

The teams with a SOS of 300 or worse need a good talking to from their AD.

I agree in principle, but I can't believe any schedule is put in place without the AD having had input and giving it his/her blessing.

Also, doesn't the SOS depend in part on the record of the opponents? If that is the case, how can one ever be sure what the SOS will be in the actual season?

But everyone knows who the weak teams are or who just lost a ton to graduation. And it's clear that only a few league teams put together a decent schedule. I understand coaches trying to schedule wins too. But, if you've put together one of the weakest schedules in the country and you STILL aren't winning........... Time for re-evaluation.

The teams with a SOS of 300 or worse need a good talking to from their AD. The ADs have to approve the schedules

OK, have each AD give a good "talking-to" in front of a mirror (and let college presidents listen to it as well).

While true, sometimes, depending on the coach and AD, the AD "rubber stamps" the schedule. One of our former ADs told me specifically that he did not interfere with the schedule set by one of our more successful former basketball coaches. He also didn't care for another former basketball coach's scheduling but due to his seniority or perhaps relative success, he let it go. The same guy, however, was very active in football scheduling. Perhaps that was a function of football schedules being 11/12 games and usually done 5 or more years out while basketball was +/- 30 games and scheduled more immediately?
No clue, and didn't ask about other sports, but guessing he didn't get too involved with LAX or field hockey or softball and the like.
Now, have his successors put a thumb on the scheduling scale? Quite possibly but again, my impression is scheduling depends on the coach and the the AD's relative respect for the coach. The AD certainly has veto power and just a question of whether or not he/she wants to wield it.

I don't follow women's hoop that closely....curious have the women's service academies mostly struggled over the years?

I don't follow women's hoop that closely....curious have the women's service academies mostly struggled over the years? Wbb: Army won the league in 2015-16 and 2013-14 and 2005-06. Navy won three straight titles in 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13.
