We actually have drawn fairly well recently compared to most FCS programs. I'd have to go look but I'm pretty sure we were in the Top 25 for FCS attendance in 2022. Weather killed our home attendance this year. That being said, attendance is mostly down everywhere. A "bad crowd" of 10-12K at Fitton in the 1970s would be a decent crowd today compared to many FCS schools today. I don't even think our attendance was that bad this year, was it?

A very good, by FCS standards, 11,000 average (at Fitton). Lafayette would have likely pushed 15,000, if not for the weather.

Little skeptical of an 11K average at Fitton this year.....tickets sold maybe. Homecoming and Lafayette were hurt by weather or perceived bad weather. I was at the Merrimack game....13K seems a stretch.
As I said though....during the Chesney era, we drew bettah than most CAA and Ivy schools in the Northeast. no one in the PL really came that close to our home attendance. Looking now, Bucknell drew just 925 for our game which is disgraceful.

What do you expect, the Bison football stadium is named for one of the first five baseball players named to the baseball hall of fame. That has no bearing but it is a head scratcher remembering the Hart Center stands behind the Bucknell bench being all orange for big basketball games against HC in Worcester and they only draw 925 for a home football game.

People like to cheer for good teams. Bucknell football stinks. You also won’t find huge crowds following the men’s basketball team to Worcester at this point. Or going to Sjoka.
