I assume Matt is enrolled in classes at UNLV now and is available for spring workouts/ practice. Can anyone confirm he’ll graduate with his class from HC in May ? [b Sluka in the Hart Center tonight for the bball game.

It seems (FWIW) a bit of an unknown as to where Matt is finishing up (to the extent he needs to finish up) his HC coursework. In any case, at some point he’ll be competing for the starting QB position at UNLV.

Everyone, Matt is finishing classes at HC this spring. Will not participate in Spring Ball at UNLV. Lots of virtual board work with Coach Marion right now.
He will arrive to compete in the summer.
UNLV returns one QB with any starting experience but has been set back by multiple injuries over his career. They brought in the kid from Campbell and Matt to compete. I think all parties involved know what they are doing and know the stakes of their decisions.

I'll be surprised if Sluka isn’t under center for UNLV's first offensive snap against Houston.

Sluka is a tremendous talent; I certainly expect him to excel at UNLV as the starter

Probably the NFL trying to engineer a storybook ending with Travis getting down on one knee at midfield and proposing to Taylor before both flying off to Disneyland.🤣

Apparently it rained like crazy there and, of course, Vegas isn't built for rainstorms.

I'd be shocked if Matt didn't start right away out there. Be fun to watch late night on Saturdays next Fall.

I would imagine Matt will be in Vegas during our spring break which starts after class on Friday. I don’t know if UNLV’s spring practice has started. Assume there are no rules preventing Matt from practicing (informally) next week

Was there an option for him to take courses at UNLV this spring and have them transfer so he could still graduate from HC? Seems like that would have been the ideal option from a football perspective.

This is what the HC website says about graduation requirements from HC. I am sure that exceptions can be made.
General Requirements Holy Cross offers a curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) degree, which some students earn with College honors. To meet the requirements for graduation, all students must both successfully complete a minimum course count of 32 semester courses and record a minimum of eight semesters of full-time study. Full-time study requires enrollment in a minimum of three courses with a course count of one each. Each Holy Cross course normally carries a course count of one (see College Credit). Each course also carries a GPA unit count, which can vary from zero to 1.5 and is used in the calculations of the student's grade point average (see Grading System).
To qualify for a degree from the College, at least one half of a student’s courses, including the two full semesters of the fourth year, must be completed at the College of the Holy Cross or at one of its approved programs. Students are permitted, however, to participate in Holy Cross programs, such as the Washington Semester, Semester Away and Study Abroad, in the first semester of their fourth year and may petition to participate in these programs during their final semester after consulting with their Class Dean.
Each student’s curriculum consists of common requirements, a major, and freely elected courses. In designing their curriculum, students are limited to a total of three programs combining majors, minors, and concentrations, only two of which can be majors.

No. Matt cherishes his HC degree and wants to finish up his studies and walk with his class mates at graduation in the Spring.

I am elated that graduating from Holy Cross was a priority for Matt Sluka. I am so happy for him. Now he can join Crossports and tell me that I am an idiot for writing the stuff I write. Of the big three, Sluka, Coker & Hansen. Will all graduate with a highly sought Holy Cross degree?

All players playing their 5th years somewhere else (Newman - Michigan State, Schon - Duke, Spence - JMU) will also graduate in May before reporting to their new destinations in June. Purdy and McMurtrie (both JMU) played their max years at HC and like CJ graduated in December.
