At least he is leaving after Chesney left for JMU. JMU is better than BC. Now BC should stay away from our guy Dan Curran.

Should we be a bit worried about Gunnell?

Should we be a bit worried about Gunnell? A P4 school is going to take an FCS assistant ? Seems very unlikely.

I would much prefer Chesney at JMU rather than Boston College. Job wise BC is better from an economic standpoint.

JMU might be better, but BC pays 3 mil a year.

Facing the 2nd signing period next week, this late departure could set BC back a couple of years How about coach Curran making a few calls to BC commits that we had recruited ?

Would think Golden from ND or Coen from Kentucky would be considered. Bill O'Brien is looking for work too I hear!

As far as I know BC runs a clean program within the understanding of big time FBS football. Don't know if their student-athletes are academically on a par with the general student population. Surely some are well within the profile but I would imagine taken as a whole the players are not academically representative of the student body. Could be wrong. But, I assume their student-athletes attend class, take exams, etc. There must be some allowances in course registration, time for practice, travel and bowl games. Don't know BC's student-athlete (football men's basketball) graduation rate, suspect it's high or how it compares to the overall student population, suspect its higher. For some strange reason I've moved on from any animosity toward the school. Don't spend any time on BC(except for this post) & don't care one way or another.

Boston College: Potential names to track as Boston College begins its search for a new head coach include James Madison coach Bob Chesney, Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken and Kentucky offensive coordinator Liam Coen, per 247Sports' industry sources.
Chesney moved from FCS Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts to James Madison in December, and his buyout to take a Power Five job is reportedly $1.75 million.

With Blake James being the AD, Golden wouldn't be a surprise.

I am not sure if Curran is big on the portal but this is a maroon and golden opportunity for us

We will know that after Feb 7th, will depend on who and how many sign. There’s definitely one Eagle DB I’ll be watching.

I didn’t notice any defensive wizardry up at BC the past few years but Green Bay must know what they are doing.
Although BC fans might be happy to see him go, the timing is not the best for the BC football program.
