Apologies if this has been noted but do we give any scholarships for baseball?

Lose 5-4 A Shame that the one game we get strong pitching, the usually reliable bats fail Certainly reason for cautious optimism......that was a competitive weekend series

Apologies if this has been noted but do we give any scholarships for baseball? That's been described as something like "no or almost no scholarships" I think it might be a very token amount.

-8 run differential after these six games is impressive, IMO.
FWIW, W&M went onto smoke Richmond and sweep UMass Lowell this weekend.

Another error free game today - coaches/players have to take a lot of confidence from the team's performance this weekend Hitting 7 HR's over the three games is something that I've never seen before, and against a power conference opponent

It would be great if we gave two full scholarships each year - one dedicated to a pitcher and a second to fill a priority position on the roster- another pitcher, power or contact hitter, speed, middle infielder.…
KSU had a ton of speed and stole bases like it was a free pass to move ahead. We could use some more speed as we build the roster.

That (2 scholarships) was what HC had way back in the days of Hop Riopel. Most years they went to 2 pitchers.

It is worth reminding all that the NCAA max scholarships for D.1 baseball is only 11.6 (over a roster of abt 25 - 30 in most cases). I say we continue with the way we operate and recruit as the rest of the PL does (academies excluded of course).

We could use some more speed as we build the roster. Again, if the team had 2 scholarships, there's no way they're giving them to 2 players per year. They'd give 4 half schollies, or 8 quarter schollies, just like the rest of the NCAA does. I'd bet you could count the number of players on K-State on full scholarship on 1 hand, and have a couple fingers left over.

Another great effort from the boys, and surprising power showing up. The Lion kid was impressive. Hope it keeps up in Hawaii!
