After a rough patch a few weeks ago, Declan has given up 1 hit and no runs in his last 5 appearances totaling 4 innings

For those of you who still follow MLB, presumably most of you on this thread, are these highs and lows, peaks and valleys, now "standard" for pitchers? I'm guessing yes and as long as the ups are more frequent than the downs, a pitcher has a decent chance to stay in the bigs.

DC pitched a scoreless 9th tonight in a tie game vs Nationals - Marlins won it in the 10th 4-3

Scoreless inning last night for DC.
He's got a 4.50 ERA in 64 innings pitched this season.
Miami has 20 games remaining. If DC is able to throw 8+ innings without surrendering an earned run the rest of the way, he'll finish with a sub 4.00 ERA.

I came across the 8th inn on MLB Network with DC pitching - his fastball (cutter) maxed out at 96 mph
