My alma mater, ND, forced 26 turnovers while committing only 5 so ND in a romp, right? Wrong, Oregon State wins by five.

Considering the huge hits Notre Dame took in the injury department this year, their recent run thru the ACC tournament and opening games of the NCAA Tournament is very impressive. Their lack of offensive firepower and size, given the injuries, finally caught up to them. (Shooting percentage and rebound stats were particularly lopsided in favor of Oregon State). Played only six women due to roster issue.

Their star missed 4 minutes early because she had a nose ring.
Claim is she was allowed to have it during the season as long as it was taped up (which, in terms of proper breathing, makes no sense whatsoever). Someone dropped the ball on this.

The no jewelry rule is pretty clear...no jewelry. As an official I have run into this and the problem lies with the people who did not enforce that rule and made up the "tape exception." The way it was done in this case was unfair to the athlete, but she did get the piecing in spite of that rule.
BTW, track and field did revise the jewelery rule. Any jewelery which does not pose a danger to the athlete or others (determined by the referee) is now allowed.

The ND women’s team is fun to watch and well coached. Got to see them in person three times this season. Will be much better next year when they hopefully have better health.
