What pot of money could schools use to pay out 22% of revenue? Athletic scholarships. Before NIL, most D-1 BB players got compensated exactly the same amount - a full scholarship. It might be more fair and realistic to use NIL to compensate each player according to his contribution instead of giving every one the same value scholarship.
Think colleges can afford to pay both 22% of revenue and full scholarships? Many can't.
