I think it was the Loyola game where they reviewed an OOB call (seemingly forever) with the winner (HC in this case) decided (either they got the ball and we let them score; or we got the ball and they just let us stand there and the game would end).
No doubt it was related to the spread or the over/under. And whichever of the two scenarios listed above is exactly what happened when the review finally ended and the game resumed.

There's orders of magnitude more involvement in betting now that it's in the light. Bet losers being mad and taking it out on [everything but themselves for betting] is only growing.

I think this counts as sociological more than political, but in general, common courtesy is dying when dealing with others - especially from behind a keyboard. Many people think it is acceptable to tear into others in a way that, in my opinion, crosses the lines of polite society. If the Crusaders lose because they blew a lead by not making free throws down the stretch, I might bemoan things in the stands, but I'm certainly not taking my frustrations public and threatening some kid on his social media |
