Both catchers for UConn left game 1 for heat exhaustion. Interesting that the NCAA made all three games in this series at noon, 11 am, and noon. Lunacy these games are not night games......I know, television, but come on !! |

Sounds like a smart, but unfair decision by FSU to play those games so early. Joking aside, I am sure the NCAA and ESPN also have a say in game times. They seemed to have marquee Super Regionals on tv at night.
While working at Georgetown, I played 3 summers of park league ball in Virginia primarily as a catcher. I lost tons of weight over the course of a hot, humid summer. Can't imagine those UConn backstops with the heat and humidity. All throughout high school I generally wore a "goalie style" catchers mask but in the summer in Virginia I switched to the skull cap and face mask because of the heat.
