Amazingly, our nation's polarization even extends to views on Caitlin Clark. For instance, I like her & think she's a tremendous, generational talent. Whereas, there are others who believe she is a "punk." A punk? Certainly, the WNBA is getting great promotional publicity. Cheap shots against the greatest college scorer , bad mouthing, bad blood, are great for media ratings. WWF?

"The reason why we're watching women's basketball is not just because of 1 person. It's because of me, too. I want y'all to realize that"
(Here Angel Reese explains to new and old WNBA fans why they want to watch WNBA games. This is kind of hilarious.)
Angel Reese is absolutely not jealous of all the positive attention Caitlin Clark gets. Absolutely not. None of the players are.

Clark should apply for a criminal complaint; that was a battery. Were talking about professional sports. She's a competitor. She's got mental toughness. Opponents are going to be physical with her. I some sure she rubbed some dirt on it and has moved on.

Stating the very obvious, but she has to be correct. Anyone who wants to see two TEAMS play (with 10 players on the court) clearly wants to see more than one player. Will I be more likely to watch a game with Clark in it...probably. Tuning in to see Angel Reese maybe, but only if she is playing against Caitlin.

On the other hand, in the early 2000's, attendance was higher at Fenway when Martinez pitched. Back in 1986, I went down to Fenway and bought a ticket at the gate when Tom Seaver made his Fenway debut as a member of the Red Sox (because, he was Tom Seaver) In a similar vein, I predict WNBA teams across the country will bring in higher than average attendance when Indiana comes to town

The Yankees draw better on the road than some of the home teams do when playing other opponents. Stars and stories sell, tale as old as time. Clark may be all hype or fluff at the WNBA level, or she may be the best player ever. Time will tell. Undeniable now: she's rising the tide and all boats are being lifted.
To be clear, I am the jackass that will slam someone and say, "Now THAT'S a foul," when they flopped on weak contact two plays earlier... at Friday night open gym. I'm all for respecting the game and playing it tough. However, saying "BITCH!" and then hitting someone in the back when the play is dead and the ball is out of bounds is not tough. It is not even chippy. It's dirty. In simple assault all things are equal.
To speak to the idiocy of the whole thing, how can not one of Caitlin's teammates stand up for her? Even if they're not throwing elbows and punches in retaliation, they're not even speaking out, or at least not that we hear.
