I put the emphasis on "head coach" rather than "D-3." as we have been burned by another route to HC at HC, the long time D-1 Assistant with no head coaching experience. Obviously there is no 100% guaranteed background leading to success for a new HC HC.

Interesting that they hired a D-3 head coach with only three years on a D-1 bench.... Boston Celtics hired their head coach whose only head coaching experience was two years at Fairmont State. |

Tom Heinsohn had zero coaching experience of any kind when he became head coach of the Celtics where he went 427-263 with two rings. He never coached a minute anywhere else at any level.
Red handed him the keys and said by the way, Russell just retired.
