Thanks for posting, OP. Interesting article about our Jesuit brethren. It was G-town accepting Patrick Ewing that ground Fr. Brooks' gears as much as anything when it came to his disdain for where college athletics was heading.
Personally, my favorite Georgetown team was the 3-23 '71'-72 edition that we curb-stomped at the Aud. Ah, the good old days, when Georgetown and UConn were both irrelevant afterthoughts.

As Fr. K's book showed, GU is the mother of HC--for better or worse. For that reason alone, we should accord GU a measure of our respect.

Would love to be in a conference with Georgetown, also Seton Hall, St. Joe's, Fordham, and BC. Too bad for the many nuances of NCAA regulations.

I'm more interested in Georgetown than BU Good to see them failing and irrelevant. Never liked their duplicitous dirtiness under JTI.

If you removed the familial aspect, this article could very well have been written about Notre Dame football or BC sports since its move to the ACC and Fordham's move to the A10. Thanks for posting

an ugly loss tonight 74-56,and it wasn't that close for most of the 2nd half. GU is in a very tough spot as the thought of making a coaching change with JT Jr, hanging over the program makes things very complicated, esp with the new facility just opened with his name on it.

Thanks for posting wrong wrong a tossup When ND football farts it gets two of the top ten story lines on ESPN.COM.............and people know who they are and their academic profile has risen remarkably. Ask BC about the ACC. The$y l$ove i$t..................................................................also " " " " " " " very well. Fordham; meh So great to know that JEB crippled our sports program and hurt Holy Cross because he was defilied by GU taking Patrick Ewing. Ewing was great for Georgetown and Georgetown was great for Patrick Ewing. Sort of the ultimate win/win.

They may have trouble competing, but the ACC has been a grand slam home run for BC - financially, academically and in cementing its national stature.
