The basketball film room is utilitarian because its non-public space. There will be no purple paint, and I doubt there will be any decor. . Not sure if you're going off plans or just making a guess, but that would be a major miss. Our basketball lockerrooms, film rooms, team rooms, etc. all need to be and look great given how little was done to the actual arena as part of a $95M+ project. First class locker/film/team rooms with all the bells and whistles will do more for recruiting than an auxiliary gym.

They're not going to have all the bells and whistles. ^^^Georgetown. Basketball practice facility, two courts, cost $62 million ^^^ Georgetown, Verizon Center. ^^^ Duke. When men's basketball is a cash cow, you get the 'bells and whistles'. Boston College, video tour. Bucknell Women's locker room Harvard. Dinky gym, but a more-money-than-the-Almighty locker room.

From the webcam, the trailer I associated with the crew installing the field turf is now gone. I assume the turf is ready for use.

In the photos it's clear that some walls already have purple paint. Have no idea why anyone would expect Pine not to absolutely provide for sharp amenities throughout the complex.

Maybe, but we're talking about one posted photo of a meeting room with cinderblock walls painted white and what looks like flourescent lighting ... don't get me wrong, it's a nice room

Dark purple, at best, is an accent color. It should not be over-used. ADNP apparently has a consultant on decor, and all decor, including signage, is standardized and approved at a high level. And after all, did not the previous AD install purple fixtures in the lavatories?
I think a design issue more important than purple paint in the hoops film room is the location and display and presentation of trophies and memorabilia

Trucks are now rolling down the hill....
On the question of what were the rolls of what resembled rolled-up carpet, this is not padding for the walls. Rather it appears to be some sort of fabric mesh being applied to the exterior walls of Luth. Similar color to the metal paneling on the outside of Blaney and the performance center.
I am rather certain I don't have drawings or specs for this. I didn't download many of the pdf files.

For those who have visited and reported on the LAC progress of late, where do you park and can you just walk in and snoop around ? Some areas are still off limits, correct ?

Parking is essentially unchanged from the what's its been for 15 years or more. Park as close as you can to the old main entrance to the Hart Center as it remains the main entrance to the complex.
Then just walk around. Yes some areas are off limits, some doors will be locked - last time I was in looking around, the main gym was locked - but you'll get a pretty good look at the place from most of the areas accessible to the public. You're almost certain to run into someone who will be happy to talk to about the place - even if they can't take you behind the locked doors.

Thanks 8485...
Will I be able to get upstairs and see Blaney gym and the inside of the barn ?
I'll have a rental car, will I need a visitor pass to park up there ?

Yes, you should be able to see the Blaney gym - unless they block the windows due to a practice!
And by the barn i assume you mean the indoor field - which at a minimum should be visible from the secondary lobby.
No parking pass needed. There may be a few reserved spaces up close to the building but there is plenty of public parking.

You can drive, walk or hitch a ride to downtown. It's called the DCU now.

How do I get into the expanded hockey rink? You didn't hear? Improvements to the HC hockey facilities were overruled and cancelled by the Railers owner. It's all his fault!

I saw that and it is something I mentioned in the thread on the hoops golf tournament. If you need to get there right at 10:00 for your normal parking spot, it's tough to sprint up the hill for a 10:00 tour. I am not sure if this time change affects the tour associated with the golf tournament or not. I replied to the E-mail and asked the question

The change of tour times impacts those of us planning on attending the Ring of Honor events on 9/16. My original plan was to do the tour before that kicked off. Not sure how long the tour is expected to last. I re-registered for the first tour on the 16th but might not be a good idea to walk out in the middle of Dennis Golden's speech.

Tough to show "film" in there! no video screen on the front wall..Obviously, the room is not 100% complete!

The screen is recessed in the ceiling of the hoops film room. It is motorized and 96 inches across.
The larger team meeting room has three of these motorized 96 inch screens.. Bud Ryan room has one as well..
There are nine 96 inch screens, manual operation.
And 25 62 inch TV monitors.
