By my count, this is the 4th commitment for the 2018 recruiting class -- Demski, Brown, Ezemma, and now Petro.
We have five seniors on the 2017-2018 roster, so I would guess we have room for one more.

Or two, as they may have one in hand from Springfield

IMHO, Kelly Petro can be a solid D1 guard and she comes from a program well drilled in hoop basics. I would say a nice addition.

Totally different approach these days for Gibbons who is carrying 16 on the roster this year. Long gone from the days where he only carried 10 or 11 and inevitably was left short-handed by injuries.
Also of interest is the lack of geographic diversity in the recruiting, with all but two of those players hailing from Pennsylvania New Jersey New York and Massachusetts. And the two 'outsiders' are both recruited Walk-Ons from Illinois.

The geographic diversity, or lack there of, not terribly different from the other league teams, some have a sprinkling of players from outside the PA/NJ/NY/DC/New England area, a few with a bit more than others, but not much. Not sure if not one or both of the "walk-ons" may well be scholarship players. Sort of funny, how geographically similar to the men's roster they are. I for one have always struggled to understand why not only HC, but all the teams in this league seem to have such problems getting kids from other parts of the country, I don't think it's from lack of effort. .

It's not just the athletic teams. The entire College has been unsuccessful in becoming as geographically diverse at it would like to be.

I don't disagree, I know the women have offered kids from out side their typical recruiting areas, it just surprising they can't get anyone from the deep south or west to come, even with a full ride.

Fwiw, Bucknell women's scholarship players include ones from Arkansas, California, Iowa, Kentucky, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. Their star player from last year was from Michigan. On the men's side, there are scholarship players from California, Canada, Georgia, North Carolina (2), Illinois, and Virginia (2). The class that just graduated had two players from Texas and one from Minnesota.

As I understand it there are 30 freshmen from the state of California and another 30 who are international students in this large class of 2021. So clearly the effort to broaden our Geographic diversity is beginning to pay off.

I wonder what it is relative to when I was admitted. It's probably a little lower now but I wonder by how much.

With New Englanders, on average, having such high IQ's it is only to be expected that many would be admitted to Holy Cross and be smart enough to accept...

Always enjoy these early signing days, esp when we have to wait a year for a men’s hoop signing day

I think if she brushed her hair away, Kelly's shirt looks a little like NAD's custom shirt he wears.

The quotes from her 1000 win Pascack Valley coach, Jeff Jasper, sound like he is describing one of the best players in the country...certainly one of the best (possibly the best) in NJ. She will make an immediate impact at HC.
