Hardy was a Carmody assistant at Northwestern for several years, and played for him there, too - more PO in the PL? He has a reputation as a good recruiter.

Also a few years under JTIII next door at G-town. Very solid hire for Loyola.

Bill Murray's brother had a shot at the Loyola MD job too...it would have been fun to see him at the Hart Center.

Also a few years under JTIII next door at G-town. Very solid hire for Loyola. I'm guessing the Loyola fans are hoping Hardy will fare better than the two most recent PL hires from the Carmody tree -- BC (42-56 .429) and Mike Brennan (63-94 .401)

Also a few years under JTIII next door at G-town. Very solid hire for Loyola. Might turn out to be a good hire. A bit of a gamble also, I think: - No head coaching experience - No midmajor experience - No recruiting with high-level academic standards required I wouldn't be surprised to see him bring in some transfers as part of his recruiting over the next few years.

The writer who covers Marist basketball reports that Marist finally made an offer to Patrick Beilein in the past few days - and he turned it down.

The dismissal of Maker, who coached with both Beileins, probably didn't endear the school to them, either.

While I would agree that some "flexibility" in admissions exists in the P5 and BE (especially Georgetown), he has actually only coached at top academic schools (Northwestern, Georgetown, Georgia Tech).

Yes, but top academic schools where many/most of their players would be inadmissible in the PL.

Congrats to Coach Scott. Good luck at a very tough job. That’s what I would say to him if he got the Marist job. I don’t think he has much of a future here at holy cross, just my opinion.
