Not sure - he was coming in pretty hot on that play. I think the Yale guys probably got out of the way on that basis (not wanting to get rammed). Regardless, improvements are long overdue on the sidelines. Used to be solid patch of concrete which was like a skating rink. At least that’s gone. But the narrow margin and benches make it a perpetual hazard. I don’t think HC should wait for a major injury to happen, especially with the speed of the game always increasing. Huh ? Don't recall any concrete patch anywhere on the field at Fitton.
Regardless, this has happened before over decades at Fitton. The refurbishment of Fitton in 1986 eliminated the chain link fence that encompassed the entire field. Twas replaced by the aluminum/metal façade that exits today ( now with HC branding ). Some baseball outfield wall type padding should cover that façade all around.
Item #236 for Nate Pine on his 'to do' list for Fitton Field.
Sidelines had long strips of concrete on them. Nightmare. As Joe, said they were slippery if a player was run out over there.

Hard to believe that "update" to Fitton was done over three decades ago! When will we be able to bite the bullet and properly update the stadium? Are there plans drawn up now as to what they want to eventually do? Would it be one huge update (probably financially out of reach) or would it be done in small steps (often more costly in the long run)? I think we already have an existing thread for this...

You don’t need to address ADA to make an emergent safety improvement. They just need to remove the bench and add some padding. The benches will somehow need to be guarded as well. They shouldn’t wait for a major injury. In the old days he would have wiped out on the slippery concrete before he hit the wall.

Unrelated to the stadium issue but two of the posters on the Yale forum thread were particularly exasperated that they gained over 500 yards in offense and still lost. Dartmouth does not have a Dudek, but our D certainly does need to tighten things up v Dartmouth, especially early.

We had one some time ago. The current issue is the reason I made this post. As we know, just because something has been said once does not mean it canny be discussed again. The discussion of the concrete from back in the day certainly applies to Fitton issues and to our last game as well.

4acre used to call him that; not sure why. Why does anyone call him “Sir Charles” Barkley? Believe 4acre stole that moniker and always took it as a little dig at Bare as it gave faux dignity to him.

Extremely well done video-very impressive . If that doesn’t send chills up your spine then you are not a Crusader.
I think we have an amazing coach who will take this program to the next level, to use a hackneyed phrase that is appropriate here. It’s onward and upward for our Crusaders.

Looks like HC has upped its video game big time! I hope we see that with hoops as well.

As I said in the other thread, these videos finally reflect some kind of football sense. Really outstanding work.

BTW, did anyone mention/notice how close Ng's winning FG was to being blocked ?
The Yale kid blew in and appears he actually got there too soon and jumped past the boot....lucky lucky.
In my wrap up comments of the BC game I noted watching Ng kicking 55 yard FG's in pre-game warm ups....kid's got a leg !

Does anyone keep track of "almost" blocks?
You are certainly correct about his leg. HC is blessed with some good kickers this season.

Which one of you guys was the 70 year old taunting the Yale players? I may have a new hero. It was I who reveled in saying " I smell a choke " with accompanying throat gesture as Y defense returned to the bench after surrendering tying touchdown. Do you think the resulting brouhaha affected Y performance in OT ? What fun !

Charles Bare would probably be the right person. He is Director of Media Relations and has specific responsibility for football. I sent him a note. Let’s see if his staff can dig up the info Well--it has been a week and I have not received a response from Charles Bare, so I guess the vexing question about "biggest HC comeback" will remain unanswered

A golfing friend of mine told me the following story about Yale's Head Football Coach Tony Reno. As you know, Tony grew up in the Worcester area (think Sutton/Oxford). He played little league. My golfing friend was his coach. During one game, the coach decided to pinch hit for Tony. When he called Tony back and said he was being pinch hit for there were tears in Tony's eyes. He said Tony went off to side and sat there crying. Later, when the pinch hitter got a hit that scored the winning run, Tony came back and said to his coach " you were right"! !

Too late, I already had my shirts printed up. And I actually thought about a variation of what you posted, '45, but decided that laying this on one person was not the right thing to do and instead put the hopeful quote from the Acts of the Apostles that there might be a resurrection. P.S. If you can't read it, it says: "Why is it considered incredible among you people if God does raise the dead?" - Acts 26:8 The CRUSADER will rise again!
