Offeree #37 -- QB Ricky Ortega of Coatesville, PA -- has narrowed his list to a "Top 7."
Click on the tweet to enlarge.
You know that I would not post this if HC were not included in the Top 7, right?

Although I have not had the time to check the Twitter page of every offeree, I have at this point found 11 HC offerees who have committed to other schools.
These are the schools chosen by those offerees who have committed:

For those who question the importance of facilities in recruiting, these comments by a visitor to Holy Cross today may be instructive.

breezy, et. al., regarding the LAC and the connection to recruiting, it might be worth me re-posting my conversation with Coach Chesney in which he agreed the LAC was important but just one of the factors that make Holy Cross attractive:
I think that he's too modest for perhaps the most important factor: a dynamic, charismatic head coach.

For those who question the importance of facilities in recruiting, these comments by a visitor to Holy Cross today may be instructive. No doubt the sort of kid we are recruiting for football places a high value on a school's academic reputation, academic offerings, post-graduate opportunities, football program reputation, coaching staff, facilities, location, league affiliation, schedule, etc. (and not necessarily in that order and certainly varying from one football recruit to the next). I haven't seen anyone post otherwise - although a few have reasonably posted (and I agree) that the head football coach can be the decisive factor in many recruiting instances. Beyond that we do know the sort of schools that tend to beat us out (and not beat us out) for the kids we recruit and the sort of facilities many of them have (or do not have).

Thus far, as far as I know, approximately 17 of the 131 Holy Cross offerees have made commitments -- 15 to FBS schools, 1 to Delaware, and 1 to Harvard.
And, as we all know, these commitments are not binding until a Letter of Intent is signed, either during the early signing period in December, or during the regular signing period that begins in February.
My own feeling, admittedly speculative but based upon the recent trend where schools are making large numbers of offers, is that the student-athletes will probably take longer to make a commitment than may have been the case in prior years. It is worth noting that many of the offers made by Holy Cross thus far have been made to recruits who have numerous offers -- and those recruits are certainly justified in seeing how things develop and which schools continue to show interest. Unless a recruit has a definite favorite at this point, it makes sense that he would delay making a commitment while seeing how things work out.
Holy Cross has two prospect camp days later this week. Presumably, the attendees at these camp days are potential recruits who have at least some level of interest in Holy Cross. So, perhaps we may see some developments. Fingers crossed.

I've wondered about this trend of mass numbers of offers. The Academies have been doing it this way for many years. P5 teams started emulating more and more over the last 5 yrs. Now it has become common place. Why? Recently spoke to an old buddy of mine who is now coaching at a G5 school. He explained that FBS recruiting has become a pure numbers game for most teams. The number of available full rides for your team as well as for your competitors. The goal is too fill your need slots and your recruit class. Staff looks to have 10-15 offers for each position listed in priority order. At the top there will be prospects with multiple P5 offers. At the bottom prospects with more G5 and FCS offers. Staffs will concentrate on the ones they truly want but want to be already in the conversation with kids further fown their list as verbals are announced. The reality of trickle down. No matter how you view it, the FCs and the PL are at the bottom of D 1 recruiting.
