He built a program at Salve Regina and then at Assumption. I predict he will do the same at HC; he is not someone who will jump before he completes his mission.

Wasn’t there a thread about fear of TG moving up the latter? That didn’t happen.

I can tell you why he didn't climb the "ladder" was because of his loyalty to Holy Cross after contending for PL titles a few years with 7-4 records and the winning the championship, he wanted to be at HC, as he had turned the program around and thought even better years were ahead. Turned out he was wrong. Anyone who had had any conversations with Tom knew he bled purple through and through. That said, he expressed that he blew his chances to advance his career when he was a hot commodity.

TG is a fine man and a true "Crusader," one who only wanted the best for his athletes and for Holy Cross. I spoke with him a few weeks after his termination as head coach. He had nothing bad to say about the Cross, agreed that it might just "be time" and said he still "bleeds purple." I wish him all the best and much success in the future.

I would be shocked if Chesney was offered the UMass job. Believe nothing that you hear and half of what you see. More that happy to see that BC got clobbered and ND won.

Wasn’t there a thread about fear of TG moving up the latter? That didn’t happen. He interviewed for the Yale job IIRC and turned down FBS assistant jobs. More recently, with TG teams wallowing a few years back, his name came up during the early stages of a coaching search at Columbia. That was probably just speculation.
