Ziggy looks rested, well fed and ready. Added depth for the stretch drive. well fed for sure. Looks a wee bit chunky to me

This defense is just really, really poor. Based on the bench, it appears that Carmody totally defers to sideshow Kennedy — time for Carmody to take the reins back and figure out a way to put a cohesive unit on the floor.
Once again, the offense needs to flow through Floyd-Green-Grandison. We need to get Grandison involved early in games, but due to the lack of structure, he tends to go long periods of time without getting involved.

Don’t agree that this team with basically a 6 man rotation will make a move toward a championship - only with Niego back and playing well can we make a push - Faw seems unable to stay out of foul trouble and that has to be solved going forward - if these pieces fall into place, we’ve got a chance

Was Joe Scott our “defensive coordinator” last season?

Whoever is teaching the leap into the stands past a three point shooter is the Special Teams Coordinator.

Wonder if the Bison fans feel they should get any credit for their first half performance....they sure seemed to find more WIDE open 3 point spot ups in one half than I can recall seeing in a while. Guys flying out at shooters? Seemed like on a few shots defenders weren't even in the same area code.
I want AB on my team.

AB's nose dented the floor at Sojka.

I know the "in" thing is to look at our team's shortcomings when we lose, and we certainly didn't play a full game tonight, but I just thought Bucknell attacked our defense about as well as anyone has this year. Call it coaching, call it personnel, call it whatever you want. That's what I saw tonight.
Thank goodness JF apparently escaped a major injury.

Lots of contact this evening . . . . on both sides.
When was the last time Carmody got a T? I can't recall any but I'm sure it must have happened before.
As I posted after the Lehigh game, to beat either of those teams everyone, at least our 5 starters, has to play "above their average." Haven't seen the stats but my gut says JF and AB did. Grandy, MF and Caleb probably below average - certainly not better than average. We are not going to beat these teams when only 2-3 of our players have a solid game.

This team could use two things to add depth: 1) a mysterious extra year of eligibility for Alex Vander Baan. 2) Clayton LeSann to turn into Robert Chanpion starting tomorrow.

Four of our five PL opponents have registered EFGs of over 55%, with the last two over 60%. Only two of thirteen OOC opponents shot better than 53%.
I think our PL brethren have a lot better book on our approach, and are well-prepared for what we do defensively.

Once again, our opponent dictated the game. Bucknell wanted to play fast against us, and we did nothing to make them feel uncomfortable.
To be honest, a 2-3 start doesn’t surprise me all that much. We are an average PL team.

Austin Butler delivers another solid game on offense--since taking off the shoulder tape (I believe this is the 3rd game without it) he has had O-Ratings of 118-120-138, 10-19 on twos, 7-15 on threes, 6 offensive rebounds tonight and 19 total rebounds in 3 games. No doubt his most committed detractors will not be swayed.....

Honestly, it appears that only AB and PB look to even try to get an offensive board. I assume that is by design. AB still has trouble driving to the basket and does better being under the basket when someone else shoots it and he gets an o-board.

Ziggy looks rested, well fed and ready. Added depth for the stretch drive. I'd love to see more depth on this team. That being said, I'm not overly optimistic that Ziggy's knees are going to give us significant minutes . I don't think these things get better unless they're totally shut down and they didn't do that

Lutz said on the radio the knees are the reason he has played so little. Said both were wrapped heavily tonight

I wondered about that so I asked some coaches. It is felt to be distracting to the shooter and there is virtually no chance to commit a foul. It does take that player away from any chance at a rebound, however. It's a high-risk attempt to compensate for the fact that our guards and wings can't cover on the perimeter. When Jehyve is flying off the court as the ball is on its way towards the basket . . . it's a problem. More than any individual players not being quick enough, it about a lack of sound preparation and fundamentals to have guys in the right position. We don’t really have a structure to the zone defense (e.g. 2-3, 1-2-2, etc.) after the first pass of the possession and guys are running all over the place. It’s absolutely insane how many times we have 2-3 guys who are solely focused on playing the ball. When this happens and the ball gets reversed, the guy now responsible for the ball is coming from a very long distance, and apparently is being taught to run and jump by the offensive player. I would be very interested to see Carmody/Kennedy do a coaches training video on this defense, because the structure that is out on the floor makes absolutely no sense.

It looked like CN had the boot back on again. I think I heard the announcer mention it, although I wouldn’t rely on them too much for factual information.

In all seriousness, we are what we are in D1 hoop today....just another low, mid-major playing out the string until the league tournament....it's beyond boring at this point.

On the bright side, JF showed (in case there were still a few doubters) he is effective down low even against the better PL teams (25 points on 11/15 from the field).
Bucknell's Sestina had some offensive stat line: 32 points on 11/11 from the field and 9/10 from the line. In 28 minutes.
