His dad is my best friend and Chris essentially views me as his uncle... Little info on Chris: he is a legit 6’2 and now weighs 212lbs after doing the HC workouts since signing. Also, he ran a 4.6 at their camp and from what I can tell, excited the coaches with his athleticism. He’s been studying the playbook since they gave it to him. He was actually recruited by Wake Forest.. went to their camp etc (say this because of the walk on transfer that everyone is talking about) Also, the high school he is coming from was very focused on academics and many of his teammates didn't care much about how the football team performed. Chris's tenacity and athleticism with his competitive nature drove that team's success. Whether he starts or not, time will tell, but he it's very excited about coming to holy Cross and has the athleticism to perform. His father and I will be at the Navy game regardless. We will come to add many games as possible. Go HC!
Sounds like a Chesney type of player. All good!!
Welcome to Chris and his supporters - related and otherwise.

This incoming duo reminds me a bit of the pair of QBs that HC had in Mike Cunnion and Jack Lentz. I hope they reach that level and their skills can compliment each other as Mike and Jack did. (I still keep Mike in my prayers. )

It's on CBS Sports Network. There should be an internet subscription for that if you don't have it in a cable package. As long as there is a three hour or longer free trial we're good to go.

You can usually just sign in with your internet provider login. I have Directv now. No problem just logging in to watch a game. CBS Sports Network lists all of the providers the site accepts.

2019 QB

FWIW Matthew McDonald, who was a redshirt freshman scholarship QB at BC this year (and was 5 for 6 with 107 yards v HC BTW), showed up on the 247 transfer portal about a week ago and is apparently heading to Bowling Green. (His dad was an excellent QB at USC and played a bit of pro ball.)Wouldn't have minded seeing him at HC this year. He may have to sit a year at BG if he does not get a waiver. From BC Interruption: In the grand scheme of things this isn’t a huge loss for BC. Moving forward McDonald was probably 4th or 5th on the depth chart behind Anthony Brown, Matt Valecce, Sam Johnson and EJ Perry. He probably wasn’t going to find significant playing time at Boston College, and made the wise move and transferred to a program where he might see the field.
Bowling Green's starting QB hit the 247 transfer portal a month ago and transferred to West Virginia. 8 BC guys (including QB John Langan) are on the 247 transfer portal right now. Way off the topic but I'm thinking that if PL had redshirts we might routinely land BC transfers (especially New England types). 247sports.com/college/boston-college/Season/2019-Football/TransferPortal/

So is the kid from Wake coming to Holy Cross or not? He's stopping at the Downtown Athletic Club in NYC first to pick up an award. We've been gushing over him as an FCS QB transfer to swoop in and save the day but I don't think there has been a definitive announcement that he is actually transferring. I hope he does. He and the incoming freshman QB seem like fine young men.

Seems emphatic that he will enroll at HC based on his Facebook profile.
92, has his previous Facebook post been erased?
His last Twitter account update in April, stated he was leaving Wake. . No update in Twitter regarding HC.

No mention of a football scholarship. This could be a very fortunate transfer for HC. If he got into a game in the ACC he should be able to compete for playing time in the PL. Very positive.

On the one hand the Wake kid seems like he is a very strong academic kid which is a very good thing. On the other hand he was a two-year walk-on who threw a total of two (incomplete) passes (during a 60-point blowout loss) over his two years at Wake and would represent a second 6'6" pro-style QB in our junior class. Always nice to see a bright kid enroll at HC and one suspects there is virtually no downside on letting him try out and compete for a position. (This is not to say reports of his future attendance at HC are accurate.)

does the facebook post suggest he is taking summer courses? is it necessary to participate in preseason ptactice?

Seems to me this is a situation where the student qualifies for acceptance to HC based on academics alone and perhaps football money is not an issue. That being said the position of QB is presently open. So sure, come try out and try to earn a spot, whether that be as a backup or starter. If this is accurate, nice work by both parties in coming up with a no-lose solution. Being a doctor with an HC diploma is a pretty decent fall back plan if the NFL thing doesn’t pan out. 90 Wide will be of assistance in that regard.

All college coaches usually or try to leave an extra scholarship open if a transfer situation comes up. He will not be getting a tuition bill.

The Wake transfer will begin offseason summer workouts with the team In Worcester this week. Talking to someone who’s in direct contact with him, he’s on the road to the woo eager to work. I personally met the kid when he visited, he’s a great kid, who blended into the team dynamic and culture.
