Fair...but discouraging. Four teams in the bottom 25 is not a persuasive message to play in this league. 10. Colgate 63. Holy Cross 82. Lehigh 98. Georgetown 100. Fordham 105 Lafayette 112 Bucknell

I'd like to see the PL pull ahead of the NEC: 48 Duquesne 70 Sacred Heart 78 Central Conn State 83 Bryant 84 LIU/Post (This can't be right??) 87 Wagner 106 St. Francis ETC.

ACC had their media day earlier this week.
Of note, Syracuse’s four All-ACC selections include safety Andre Cisco, defensive end Alton Robinson, punter Sterling Hofrichter and placekicker Andre Szmyt. A 2018 unanimous All-American, Szmyt led the FBS in most kicking categories last season, including connecting on an ACC-record 30 field goals.
Syracuse was picked to finish second in the Atlantic division of the ACC.

The PL would do well to stay ahead of the SWAC. Can the SWAC really have three teams below the Pioneer? 59 Southern 61 Alcorn St. 71 Grambling St. 91 Prairie View A&M 101 Alabama A&M 104 Jackson St. 110 Alabama St 123 Texas Southern 125 Arkansas-Pine Bluff 126 Mississippi Valley St.

In the AAC media poll, Navy is picked to finish fifth in the West division. Navy is not west of anywhere and Syracuse is not on the Atlantic. Maybe Oil Can Boyd is aligning the teams. He once had a rough outing in Cleveland Municipal Stadium and complained that the stadium was built right on the ocean.

Massey has Sacred Heart just behind HC in rank. He says that a game between HC and Sacred Heart would be a virtual toss-up. He makes HC a 2 point favorite (at a neutral site) - 26-24.

Columbia, playing at Robert K Kraft Field has given up their lifetime lease on the IL cellar. I shot two Columbia games last season as they beat CCSU and got hammered by Harvard. The old Penn coach is now the head guy there so I think that is the reason they are a lot better

I shot two Columbia games last season as they beat CCSU and got hammered by Harvard. The old Penn coach is now the head guy there so I think that is the reason they are a lot better Bagnoli has helped, but admissions cooperating with getting kids in is the biggest reason. I admire the eight Ivy League Institutions and the league itself, but they have certain advantages such as being unquestionably elite Universities who will not be harmed by relaxing academic admission criteria to admit an applicant with an elite skill such as an award winning pianist or Olympic gymnast or a teenaged star Hollywood actor/actress, or a physics genius who tanked in other subjects, or a sought after athletic recruit, etc. They also have supreme flexibility with financial aid compared to mere mortal school such as HC. To me, HC could relax admissions a little to help Coaches recruit and the net long term result for the school would be positive overall. It is hard to measure the damage consistent losing does to the college, but it can't be positive. Lowering standards slightly for a few isn't positive either. I don't know of any studies who have measured the power of winning and losing athletic programs, but I look at BC and the Flutie effect as a guide and I think there is a correlation.
