There are/have been a couple of evaluation periods this month this weekend and next weekend.
Two longer evaluation periods are on the July calendar - July 11 - 14 and 23 - 28.
Would think a July 8-10 date is the initial date targeted for a hire. Three weeks from resignation to hire seems fairly typical, but with the transition to a new AD it will certainly be a test for ADMB.

Based on everything that I’ve read here - and Crossports is my ONLY source of reference, I think I could be pretty happy with an announcement that we’ll be hiring Landry K., the current HC at Swarthmore. How could we go wrong with our very own “Coach K”?
(Not that anyone has suggested that he would be at all interested.)

It would be the same approach used in hiring Coach Chesney. If he is interested in moving up we are the only opening in the country. This approach seems more promising than a D-1 retread.

Kosmalski is the 4th leading rebounder in Davidson history so presumably he values that part of the game.

Swarthmore was 16th in the country in rebounding margin, averaging 7.9 more rebounds per game than their opponents.

Swarthmore led the country in rebound margin in 2016-17, and has ranked among the top twenty teams in that category each of the last five years. Folks might also want to check out the Christopher Newport game (down the stretch, in particular) to see their level of commitment at the defensive end.

Swarthmore; were the coaches at Grinnel and Haverford unavailable?

Vermont hired your bestie, Lonergan, out of Catholic University. Were the coaches at California Lutheran and Oklahoma Wesleyan unavailable?

Bucknell hired Pat Flannery out of Lebanon Valley, Dave Paulsen out of Williams, Nathan Davis out of Randolph-Macon. They've had a pretty good run the last 15+ years with those D3 guys.

Looking for someone with leadership qualities, X's & O's proficiency, persuasiveness/the ability to recruit--I believe that can be found outside of Division-1.

Our head football coach is a perfect example. Salve Regina to Assumption College to Holy Cross.

And Holy Cross went Notre Dame, THE MOUNT, and Northwestern. Two of those three looked really good on paper. They were both disastrous.

If his polo shirts can bring the same level of success as RW's mock turtlenecks, this deal should get done yesterday.

Something tells me he is next in line to coach his alma mater, Davidson College. If Bob Mackillop weren't pushing 70, He sounds like the ideal candidate. He might even find recruiting at HC easier than doing so at Swathmore. Their acceptance rate is 13%.

As an outsider I’m interested in who Holy Cross hires and if it will be the usual reaction from most of this board. It will be the greatest hire in college basketball and a few years later people won’t be able to run him out of town quick enough.

I think you're trying to put us into a stereotype that does not fit this group of HC fans. Certainly no one said "greatest hire in college basketball" when we brought on Sean Kearney, Milan Brown, or Bill Carmody. In fact, at least for Brown and Carmody, there were posters looking to get them whacked from the get go.

It was a big deal and the older members of the board thought it would bring them back to the good old days. I hope this hire works out for the members of this illustrious message board. Time will tell.

Must be nice to root for a team whose coach is 172-251 over 13 seasons and no one cares. At all.

Geez, unhfan, I've always supported you in the past, as you always seemed to be respectful and a good Joe. But lately, it seems likes every post involves busting our krondykes. What's up with that??

Perhaps some of the enthusiasm for the Carmody hire was because while he is not a doppelganger for Ralph Willard, they could conceivably be placed in the same police lineup and after two younger hires that were ultimately found to be not quite ready for prime time, it was understandable to hope another older, experienced D-1 coach could work magic again. And he did the first year.
If we can count one of the last three hires as a dropped foul tip (MB or BC) we haven't struck out yet and still have a chance to hit a home run with the upcoming hire.
