Getting back to candidates, I had remembered former Lehigh player Matt Logie was building up a resume on the left coast. Looks like he just took another job in sunny California, however. Wonder if he is waiting for the good doctor to leave Bethlehem: plnusealions.com/staff.aspx?staff=325

Anyone who uses Sgt. Schultz as their Avatar is OK in my book. I like the concept he mentioned about established coaches at lower academic institutions being attracted to HC. That balances the occasional 😊 mention on this board of what an Albatross our admissions standards are. Our admissions are a challenge but it is nice to see mention of higher academics being an attraction for players and coaches, too.

Krikorian is an interesting name.
Played JV basketball under Steve Donahue at Penn.
Assistant at Lafayette. Got Christopher Newport to DIII Final Four 2 of the last 4 years.
Grew up in Auburn and married a local girl that went to Wachusett High School

Some more speculation in the Twitter-verse . . . @coachingchanges can be a very interesting source on Twitter. It’s apparently run by a group of anonymous guys who can get some good scoops, or they can also just being throwing crap against the wall/floating names of guys they’re friendly with. So far it’s appeared to be the latter with regard to HC, but will be an interesting source to monitor over the coming days/weeks

Cousy said in the show that Doggie was not enamored with his style of play, which certainly was considered unorthodox at the time. Cousy was contemplating leaving when Julian got the Celtics job, although he did mention a letter from Joe Lapchick urging him to stay at HC

Bain or Bettencourt. Let's get on with it.
I would say Krikorian's name is of passing interest because of the local ties, but of no interest as an actual job candidate.
An interesting name, although I think there may be mutual disinterest, is Chris Caputo, Associate Head Coach at Miami. From Western Mass, played at Westfield State - has been Larranaga's right hand man for years at both George Mason and Miami.

Some more speculation in the Twitter-verse . . . Doubt Faucher is a candidate with a grand total of one year as a head coach at the D-3 level and literally just took the Assumption gig!

Swarthmore, last three years . . . Hold your opponents to under 40% from the floor and control the boards - what a novel concept. 2016-17. 23-6. Plays in the NCAA tournament for first time. 2017-18. 25-6. Advances to Elite Eight in the tournament. 2018-19. 29-4. Advances to national title game. FG% (National Rank) 2016-17. 45.5 (122nd) 2017-18. 47.7 (44th) 2018-19. 47.9 (50th) FG% Defense (Rank) 2016-17. 38.2 (6th) 2017-18. 39.6 (16th) 2018-19. 38.7 (7th) Rebound Margin (Rank) 2016-17. 12.1 (1st) 2017-18. 9.3 (4th) 2018-19. 7.9 (16th)

Next you are going to tell me they kept track of something like number of deflections. How about getting to the foul line.

I understand Rick Pitino is still available. The Courier-Journal reported that Rick will not be returning to the Greek professional league for next season. He has been mentioned in regard to some college openings but it is believed that he is now more interested in the NBA

Next you are going to tell me they kept track of something like number of deflections. How about getting to the foul line. In an interview a couple years ago, Bob McKillop was asked about Steph Curry, and he noted that Curry was among the NBA's leaders in screens set by guards, recovery of loose balls, and deflections. You can bet Kosmalski tracks them.
Swarthmore averaged about 15 FTA/G last year, middle of the D3 pack. In each of the previous three seasons, they averaged about 20, top 25-30% of D3.
Some interesting observations by Kosmalski in a recent podcast. From about the 31-38 minute marks, he talks about how he prioritizes toughness, physicality and defense when recruiting - even though he thinks of himself as an offensive coach.

What is the over/under for the length of time it will take for the white smoke to come billowing from the Kimball smokestack and Fr.Boroughs can declare to the City of Worcester and to the World that, indeed, the College of the Holy Cross has a basketball coach? LoveHC While any players that are in the new Summer Session are still on campus would be nice. What's the over/under on minutes before Coach Wade's first tweet after the announcement? In all seriousness it is nice to have newcomers like J. Sherman and Coach Wade interested in HC Teams.
