He wants to play with his buddies. There is also a desire to play at a different level than the PL. is the MAAC that much different I don’t think so but I’m not in his ear and/or advising him. The MAAC was one of the lowest rated conferences. The PL was about ten spots higher Fairfield was-one of the worst teams in that league ...and, if not yet mentioned, Holy Cross was 4-0 against that league, with wins vs the first, second and fourth (2) place teams. So, no, not an upgrade.

If the kid wants to go to another school in an inferior conference, let him. I hope he’s happy, plays ball, and has a great life. Let’s look to the future. New coach and new era.

I would prefer going to Manhattan, Iona, Canisius & Niagara along with Siena instead of three trips to Pennsylvania every year. One thing that is good about the PL is having Army & Navy in the league.

Along with playing at least one game a year in NYC, I would like to see more games rotated through the D1 Jesuit schools.
Games against St Joe’s, Loyola Chicago, St. Louis, Creighton, and the WCC Jesuit schools (Santa Clara, San Francisco, Loyola Marymount) are some of the schools that I would like to see HC frequently schedule.

IIRC, Derek Wittenberg took the ball away and vowed not to play HC after the last HC game at Rose Hill.
Does anyone remember why the bad blood and can recap.

From memory, always suspect, they claimed the PL was inferior and acted like they were upgrading their schedule.
Fact: they weren't better than us at the time. Last time they beat us was in '99 when we played at home and they won 87-73 then . . . . we rattled off 6 wins. They just got tired of losing.

Maybe a trip to the west coast over winter break for a couplet against USF and St. Mary’s.

I am sure that many on this board have a bit of Schadenfreude with the current state of their basketball program and the attitude they have of nothing to gain by playing HC in men’s basketball. From reading their board, there appears to be cracks in the armor regarding continuing to play in the A10 and their 25 years of futility. Where is Free the F4? Is he still lurking? Would like to have his perspective. My apology for the diversion.

Crazy endings to both regulation and the first OT with HC pulling away early in the 2nd OT. Last game of the series too.

Back to the topic Although his own VC page still has Green transferring, as does the roster section of the HC page, the recent activity section of the HC page has only Grandison transferring. Caleb’s name is no longer there,. fwiw

Good news regarding Caleb. Hope he is staying. If he did leave, I would miss chatting with his Dad during the games at Hart.

Caleb’s name is no longer there,. fwiw That's probably because their "recent activity" space only shows things that have happened for approximately the last 6-7 days. If you look at the Boston University page, you'll see that Tyler Scanlon's commitment to Belmont - which occurred on July 2nd - has also disappeared since it is no longer "recent". Same with some other news that broke at the start of July.

Has anyone heard anything on Caleb? Fairfield board has had nothing for several days. Rumor mill from those who attended the press conference last week is that Caleb was on campus working a summer internship somewhere. He was not seen at the press conference and the attendees were repeating rumors they heard.

The timing of the new, enhanced rumor is interesting, since Nelson just offered 2020 CG Tyler Kolek. I don't think he would have done so if there was any chance Green would come back.

Possibly, but Kolek looks more like a two guard. If Green is gone, we need another point guard, which I believe that BN would soon offer.
