Great win today. On top of that I had a very nice day playing the Breeders Cup--hard to beat that kind of double-header win.

Special teams are important and today they were subpar - Wilkinson punted three times for an average of 30 yards and Ng missed a short field goal attempt - we might see more of Ng punting if Wilkinson doesn’t get the job done next week

Secondary wasn't great today but I don't think they were that bad. Only beaten badly deep once on their 2nd TD if memory serves. Seems like LU was mostly dinking and dunking for the most part.
Haven't seen much of him but I hear LC's QB is a gunslinger...have to tighten it up back there next week.

Our secondary had a tough time partly because there was not a consistent rush on the QB. When we blitzed, their O line usually picked it up, esp at the end. When we did not blitz, we rarely got to the QB, again esp at the end.

It's a crazy league...2-7 Lafayette can rise from the ashes and take control of the PL with a win at Fitton next week. “Take control “ ? won’t there be a 3 way tie in the loss column then ? Yes, but if Lafayette beats us next week and end up winning out, they will own tie-breakers over HC and Lehigh and would win the auto-bid. At 5-7 -- let that sink in.

If we cannot beat Lafayette at Fitton Field we do not deserve the PL trophy. Let's play our game and hammer them

I’m not really sure what Degenhardt did today that could be considered “leading the team to a win”. Defense, offensive line, Cozier, and Oliver were the keys. Degenhardt had two costly turnovers and missed several receivers on the day. Don’t really understand the constant need to denigrate Degenhardt. He’s our QB and we’re currently 3-0 in the conference. Let’s enjoy it and cut the kid a break. Unless we have reason to believe otherwise, I’m going to assume he’s working his *ss off every week to improve and help bring us a PL title for the second time since I graduated. That was a long time ago. Enjoy the ride and support the kids. I've been on the CD bandwagon all year but he did have a sub-par game. Missed at least three deep throws and the pic in the EZ was really bad. I'll give him a pass on the second INT (made by the same linebacker) as he was trying to throw it into ground to avoid a sack but the player made a great sliding catch just above the turf. Our pass protection also broke more often late in the game, with difficulties picking up the blitz as well as penetration at by the defensive ends. Degenhart made a helluva play on the 3rd-and-10 run. MLB blitzed, got right to CD who shook off the tackle and ran right into the spot he opened up for a 15+ yd gain. Should be noted CD only completed passes to three players today. Need to get more receivers involved to keep defenses honest when the run game breaks down. Overall, this is a game we easily could have won by 2 or 3 scores and it never should have come down to the final play. Last year we ran for 400 yards against Lehigh and we followed the same game plan today, leading with Cozier who just missed 200yd on the day. On to Lafayette in the friendly confines of Fitton Field.

Enjoyed my day at Goodman Stadium, one of the nicest venues in the East with hills in the background. The Marching 97 adds to the atmosphere. Small crowd overall despite the good weather, but a nice turnout of HC fans. Not much to add to the comments on individual players, but Cozier was most impressive in the 1st half as was our offensive line at times. During the traditional post-game handshake ritual, Cozier was the first of several Crusaders who gave Coach Gilmore a warm hug. Classy moves all around. Onward to the PL title! Sorry about the miscue with pic, but i am a bit of a luddite.

Great day, great game, mediocre coffee. Lehigh is going to be our main rival for many years. Poor clock management and 2 minute drill by Lehigh at the end. Our quarterback is very capable, has his ups and downs but clearly getting better over time. We should win out for an 8-4 regular season record in 2nd year of a new coaching regime and be a tough out in the playoffs. Looking ahead BC better watch out. There is really no excuse for complaints tonight. Any questions?

If we cannot beat Lafayette at Fitton Field we do not deserve the PL trophy. Let's play our game and hammer them It's funny -- before today, I would've thought Lafayette would've been the "easiest" of our final three games. And now I look at it as both our biggest potential challenge and a "must-win". Lafeyette played a very good Monmouth team to a close 28-24 loss earlier in season and also played Penn within a score. Monmouth beat #4 Kennessaw State today and is on track to win the Big South. But the Leopards also got boat-raced by Sacred Heart and lost to Georgetown who has not managed to beat anyone else in the PL in what has to be considered a very disappointing league campaign for them. Can't read too much into one-sided losses to Princeton and Albany when trying to compare to the Patriot League. Both those teams would be beyond heavy favorites in our conference in 2019. FWIW, I may get physically ill if Lafayette wins the league at 2 games under .500. Why does it seem like they always find a way to win the league during seasons where they win 5 or 6 overall games? It also always seems like they tend to beat Lehigh when title implications are on the line for either school.

BC better watch out ? What have you been smoking tonight ?? Cannibis-infused NAB purple Kool Aid? Perhaps spiked with Worcester's very own Arctic Summer Hard Seltzer by Polar Beverages.

Telegram story about yesterday's win incorrectly states that HC clinches PL title with win over Lafayette next week. HC needs that win plus one more after that to clinch.

Fun game to go to. The HC fans showed up and were loud. What a catch by Ayeni. Also good to see Asante break the freshman yards record. Another PL Win 7 in a row. 5-4
