Good to see the HC athletic department taking care of its most loyal supporters.

Looks like we’re in a mid-November tourney at Rutgers.

Wow, aside from Rutgers, the best record was Miami's 13-19 (12th seed in the MAC).

One option for mid-major leagues, if public health shortened the season, would be to keep it local for the regular season and then have the conference tournament to determine the league representative for the NCAA tournament. That way HC-BU, Navy-Loyola-American, Lehigh-Lafayette could play each other home and home but not play the other league teams if they choose for one season.

Wow, aside from Rutgers, the best record was Miami's 13-19 (12th seed in the MAC). Needless to say, the Rutgers faithful or at least a small sampling from the message board, view the “tourney” as a string of cupcakes to open the season. Like all of us, they would just be thrilled to see a season open in November. I have my doubts it will take place.

My understanding is that we play at Rutgers on 11/21. Don’t know where and when we play CCSU. Guessing that might be an HC home game.

That's a short ride for me up Route 1 to the RAC. RU sold out its last few Big 10 games, so it will be interesting to see what kind of attendance they get and the ticket prices. I suspect it will be an expensive evening including the parking charge.

Few bad seats terrific home court advantage when the students are there

Have been there several times over the years to see Princeton, HC and Northwestern play there. It is indeed a loud place even if it's half full. I can't recall another arena where the rows of seats are so steeply banked. Sitting in the top rows gives one the nose-bleed effect. The university administration seems keen on upgrading the arena at the expense of NJ taxpayers.

The revenues being generated at the state level are going to be drastically less than anticipated.

I hope this isn't too much wishful thinking but if that tweet from Miami is accurate, Nov 14th would be a football (vs, Fordham) and bball doubleheader - don't know when that has happened in the recent past.

If the tweet is true, it will only be a double header if you get the Flutie treatment and helicopter from Fitton to Worcester Airport and then jet to Oxford, OH.

Looks like we’re in a mid-November tourney at Rutgers. This makes me very happy- Miami would be the first drivable (140 miles) game for me in a number of years

Here’s a link to the spreadsheet this site uses to track all the D1 games as they learn of them. HC at Miami (OH) on 11/14 is the only one on our list so far.

When I read Rutgers was hosting the event, I wrongly assumed the Scarlet Knights were the host site. I guess hosting an MTE today doesn’t mean what it has traditionally meant.

I an guessing that Rutgers hosts all 3 opponents, Miami hosts 2 (HC and CCSU) and HC or CCSU-1. So one team has 3 road games. Hope it’s not HC but, if it is, I would expect CCSU to come to HC in the ‘21-‘22 season.

On November 10, 2007 we played Lafayette at home in football ( L 21-31) and Hofstra in basketball (W 61-47)
For the day, there were home games for men’s soccer, men’s hockey and women’s volleyball (field house). It was an exciting day to be on campus for a HC sports aficionado.
Looking forward to seeing another day with multiple HC team are playing games on campus.

Gilmore's first year, 2004, HC won at Georgetown, in OT; and won at BU in basketball (which, IIRC, was a nice win).
Both afternoon games. Think the BBall game was a bit earlier than the football game. Or they had the football game on tape delay, can't remember.

So basically it’s a way to add 3 games to your schedule with two of them being exempt, from the 29 game limit or whatever that number is these days. Other than that, the same thing could have resulted if the schools involved scheduled then on their own. Am I missing something?

If we play Rutgers & Miami-Ohio that is a good start to the schedule. Hopefully we have seen the last of UNH & Sacred Heart. I would like to see a game with Yale, years back they were always on the schedule, now they have a top team, would be a nice home & away game for two years.

I am all for Yale coming back on the schedule. We play them regularly on the gridiron and should be playing them on the hardwood as well. Looking at things realistically, I think games against New England teams like UNH and Sacred Heart are much more likely to happen than our old rivals from back in the day.

Other than that, the same thing could have resulted if the schools involved scheduled then on their own. Am I missing something? The limit is either 27 games plus one exempt tournament - or else 29 games. With a 3-game exempt tournament, a team ends up with 30 games (27+3), thus effectively getting one extra game. It takes a four-game MTE to end up with two exempt games and thus a 31 game schedule.
