Nice to see HC in there between Alabama and St John's. Neither of whom are in the more select group of National Champions

Not sure I can identify every school that’s shown, but nor can I identify schools that are smaller than Alma Mater.

Think I got all the logos. Toughest were Duquesne (slightly above and to the left of UNLV) and Bradley (just above Kentucky & Michigan).

What is the yellow "L", an old logo for LSU? And the husky (or whatever it is) next to it? The similar animal is UConn, I'm sure.
And, I guess, CCNY won it all but was never ranked #1? Same with UTEP, but, more than CCNY, they came out of nowhere.

Be interesting to create a subset: every school that has had both a #1 AP ranking and a NCAA national championship.

Uh - pretty sure that every school that has won the National Championship was also ranked #1 in the final AP poll of the season so why would a "subset" be needed?

...to eliminate those who have had a #1 rank but never won a national championship.

...that's not what was asked. Here is what you asked..."why would a "subset" be needed?" and that is the question I was answering. If I misunderstood, what was it you meant by that question?

What are you not getting Rob?
Phreak asked this: "Be interesting to create a subset: every school that has had both a #1 AP ranking and a NCAA national championship"
I said why would a "subset" be needed as every school that has won the NCAA tourney also has been #1 for at least one week in the AP poll, so it would be the same list.

What about those who are ranked for weeks as #1 but did not win the National Championship? I did not see it limited to the end of the season, in which case such a limit makes any subset unneeded.

Maybe the reason Addisyn Cross on the WBB was assigned #1.
So we can all say, even the coaches and announcers from the opposing teams that Cross is #1. 🤗😊

Be interesting to create a subset: every school that has had both a #1 AP ranking and a NCAA national championship. 29 schools. The subset is on my piece of paper. Lesser known schools that have done it are HC, USF, LaSalle and Loyola of Chicago. The rest are the usual suspects.

If we then add an additional parameter of schools that were ever ranked #1 in an FBS/FCS poll, I think Holy Cross might be one of about 15 Div I schools. That would be an attention-getter in the Hart: hanging the banners of the x # of schools who have accomplished all three.

Great link...fascinating to see some of the schools who were Top 10 or 20 ovah the years...BC was Top 10 in '67 or '68, wouldn't have thought that for one example. We made our last appearance in the Jan 9, 1978 poll.

I know over the years people have asked the question how many colleges have won the NCAA title in both baseball and basketball, the NIT and played in a major bowl game. The list can’t be that long.

Ohio State Michigan Stanford California UCLA Virginia (joined the club last year!) Holy Cross Pretty good company. I wonder if the college has ever promoted that fact. Probably not as that would smack of being in the entertainment business.
