Listening to Tom "E" Curran talk about Patriots rookie QB Mac Jones and realizing if he was returning to Alabama this season he might be able to make more than his first year rookie contract, even as the 15th pick.

And his receivers were better at Bama than the ones he’ll be throwing to.

Can't pros get endorsement money too though? But this is an eye-opening thought. More players will be in less of a rush to "jump" if they're living high on the hog as college students. Even if they're not making as much as they would in the pros, they'll still be living pretty good.

Subway is also breaking the bank to get A-list pro athletes into their commercials. Bringing back the $5 foot long would be a better investment imo.

However, the big college stars likely do not consider that their talents may not translate to pro success.

In the end, how much endorsement money is actually out there to be had? Splitting the pie up more equitably (because the athletes are worth as much to the company footing the bill as the school or the coach) is a good thing, but is the pie any larger?

The guy that I think is the poster child for someone who would've benefited in today's NIL environment -- Gerry McNamara.
