Guess we are practicing outside to get accustomed to the possible heat of Sept 4

Pretty rough practicing on Field Turf in this type of heat.

Weather.com projects the average temperature for Hartford, Connecticut on Sept. 4 to be 79. Not ideal football temp but not too bad.

Pretty rough practicing on Field Turf in this type of heat. Luckily, they’re 18-22 and in great shape. If there was a Crossports practice on a hot day on the turf, we might be in trouble.

Good for the many flowers and trees on campus. (See? The glass is half full!)

Coach Chesney was interviewed on the TV during the rain delay. He was excited about playing a game at Polar Park, great for the city and for the college. Coach Chesney sounds like a politician. Maybe, he should run for public office.

That's great news. We broke the record and didn't have a single day hit 100 degrees here in Massachusetts. I'll have to drink to that later.

Maybe, he should run for public office. I’d prefer he stay on as our football coach. He took over a program in really rough shape and has quickly turned it into the class of our league with reason for hope that we will be nationally relevant in FCS, including being the only PL or Ivy team in the preseason top 25 this Fall.

I sure hope they're practicing indoors today. Its 78 degrees and might even get up to 80.

I don't know if anyone else saw this but on Twitter this past week someone (I've forgotten the name), after praising Chesney, predicted that he was going to be the next head coach at UConn. Chesney retweeted it but I took it as acknowledging the praise and not as an endorsement of the idea that he was going to be at UConn

With that said, I cannot imagine that he would make UConn--seems like a dead end job--his next step.

Some might have thought Holy Cross was a dead end job too.
If UConn threw enough money at him, made various non-monetary promises, I could see him commuting from Worcester to Storrs (maybe 92 knows where Edsall lives? I doubt Storrs or Willimantic or Mansfield). Baby steps . . . . . Salve . . . . Assumption . . . . Holy Cross . . . . ?

I believe UConn would have to be in a major conference to attract desirable candidates. That is unlikely

At least I’m pretty sure he did during his first tour of duty in Storrs.

With Chesney's offensive acumen, he would get absolutely dominated at the FBS level.
