I saw the NE football journal was at their camp this week, everyone should check it out. They have some DUDES are going to look just as good as us “getting off the bus.” Obviously, no one is looking past them after last season but it’s going to take a similar execution level that we saw against UCONN in that opener to beat them. We saw what will happen if they show up and play to their potential and we don’t.

Anyone know if there is an HC section at Merrimack where HC will get a block of tickets? Looks like the only seats are on the Merrimack side of the field.

For those coming up from the south - being Friday night on Labor Day Weekend, I-495 could be a parking lot from Lowell-Lawrence (right before the Merrimack exit, maybe a 10 mile stretch) from 3pm on. Might want to plan accordingly if possible.

If Merrimack (picked 5th in the NEC preseason poll) is that strong we may be witnessing NEC far superior to PL this year.

Merrimack has 7 quarterbacks on the roster and, if I am reading the website info correctly, none of them attempted a pass last season for Merrimack. Whoever gets the job has big shoes to fill

The one game I fear because they beat us last year and won’t be intimidated. If we stub our toe we might see a very slow start.
If we thrash them we might be on our way
But what the heck I am a glass full guy, so when I spill it is still at least half full.

Merrimack has only six coaches. Not counting a graduate assistant or strength and conditioning coach as a "coach".
Disproportionately high number of players from Delmarva, particularly metro DC.

Whoever gets the job has big shoes to fill Isn't our friend Zergiotis from UCONN a candidate to win the job? You'd have to guess that he is the likely starter . He had a 44% completion percentage for UConn last season, throwing 3 TD's and 5 interceptions against tougher competition than Merrimack will face this season.

As you know a talent rich group of low-mid major D 1A players Would like to see us back here for recruiting 3-4 players each year

Agreed if we play our game we are the better team. But the other teams gets a say. The have the talent that if they play well, the game will be competitive. SHU and Duquesne are still the most talented teams on paper in the NEC but Merrimack could easily finish 3rd this season.

Got my tickets to the Merrimack game. The HC announcement says they are $20 apiece. However, it appears that there are only general admission tickets and none available at the chairbacks at mid field.
I got GA seats at the next closest section and pleased that they have senior tickets there for $12 apiece so with the $2 service charge my two seats cost only $26. 👍

It is a follow up to what Merrimack calls the biggest win in program history! Most of their top players return.
Individual Highlights Elliott ended his day 24-for-35 passing and had a pair of touchdowns. He was also sacked just once. Dawson and Brehon did yeoman's work on the day and combined for 33 carries for 165 yards. Tyler Roberts had a single game career-high 55 receiving yards, including an amazing catch through traffic in the third quarter that kept an eventual scoring drive alive. Kenneth Cooper and Josh Addo both ended with five tackles. Caleb Holden registered a pass break-up. Cole Peterson had a pair of punts finish inside the 20-yard line and had a long of 48 yards.
Notes & Numbers The Warriors outgained the two-time reigning Patriot League champions, 459-355. Merrimack dominated third down. It went 12-for-18 on its own opportunities, while the Crusaders converted on just one of their seven chances. Merrimack nearly doubled up Holy Cross in time of possession. The Warriors were able to run 81 plays on offense, compared to the Crusaders' 49.
Overlooked. by some is the freak play that saw HC block a punt and Merrimack get the ball back and keep their drive alive when the ball hit a Crusader downfield. That play and an amazing one-handed pick six from the HC 30 changed the game.

In case anyone is concerned about Merrimack's policy on their website, dated last August 2021, requiring proof of vaccination to attend all athletic events including football, they will be updating that soon, possibly this afternoon. NO VACCINATION REQUIRED!!! And, yes they do sell a 4 (family) pack... cheapest way to go.... Let's WIN!!!!

It was one of those games where if something COULD go wrong, it did! And at some point it sucked the life out of the defense and they started pushing us all over the field; which really shouldn't have happened.

There's nine months to make plans to attend this game, late summer weather and two schools pumped about their FB programs an hour apart.

Yes , we sometimes get disappointed. You would think that a visitor from UNH wouldn’t be so obnoxious but that is the way it is, disappointing just like sub-optimal attendance.

Freezing temperatures, Thanksgiving weekend, Thanksgiving travel congestion, Students on break, Alumni with holiday family obligations, Christmas Shopping, Pandemic concerns, Ability to watch in the comfort of one’s family/living room on a large HDTV, were all contributing factors to the playoff attendance.
