Massey favors HC by 28 (35-07) and gives the Crusaders a 98% chance for the win.
Looking at the way Georgetown started off against Fordham, HC needs to be careful but the coaches know that.

Not sure Fordham is playing defense this year. Don’t worry.

Ranking by Massey (10/2) #7 HOLY CROSS (5-0) #44 Harvard (2-1) - dropped 17 places after loss to HC #46 Yale (2-1) #47 Fordham (4-1) - up 3 places with their comeback win over Georgetown #70 Lafayette (2-3) #86 Colgate (1-4) #89 Merrimack (3-2) #94 Lehigh (1-4) #104 Bryant (1-4) #115 Georgetown (1-4) #117 Bucknell (0-4)
(Massey has HC as a 28 point favorite at Polar Park. I think that may be a bit conservative since he assigns HC a 98% chance for the win.)

Watch HC go down a couple of places if Bucknell even scores at Polar.

Possible, but it does not seem to hurt Fordham much when you need a calculator to add up opponent scores.

Can't get ahead of ourselves but the coaching staff has done an excellent job preparing each week. We should pound Bucknell in all phases. Run Fuller and Ollie. Some Sluka runs and spread the ball around to our various receivers. I feel like this should be a repeat of last year's game at Polar. If we look at teams around us in the rankings, they seem (like Jackson St) to take care of weaker opponents.

Peter Oliver should run for his 2,000th yard in the first half. He has 1,962 yards on the ground now

Surprised by Bucknell's defensive ranks. They are 20th against the pass but in the bottom half vs. the run. Might dominate the game but might be on the lower scoring side if we run, run, run. Let's get the W under the lights (at the end anyway). Lafayette is excellent on the defensive side of the ball. Is it weird that I am more concerned now about the Laffy game than the Fordham game?

Not really. Some of us "contribute" through worrying. (Some might say that I am a pro when it comes to worry, even though I am something of an optimist and prefer to look at the bright side of life.)

We’ve got to stay sharp notwithstanding the plethora of extraordinarily weak teams amongst our remaining opponents. The good news is that Coach Chesney has been well aware of this challenge and certainly has a plan to maintain our playoff trajectory.

Peter Oliver should run for his 2,000th yard in the first half. He has 1,962 yards on the ground now Once he gets there, and assuming we have a comfortable lead, we should empty the bench and let our second and third units get some playing time. A comfortable win, but a significant injury to a starter after the game’s outcome is well in hand, will dampen any celebration afterwards.

I hope we beat them by 50 points after what they did to our fans and parents during Covid. Lying about Covid policies and not allowing HC fans into their stadium while their stands were packed with fans, students, cheerleader the band and 0 HC fans. The fact that the AD threatened to have me arrested if I or any HC fans showed up was amazing to me. To be 22 years old again!!

Some highlights of the Bucknell-Lafayette game from Saturday as reported by the Allentown (Pa.) newspaper:
Throughout the course of a 1-3 start, Lafayette’s first-year coach John Troxell maintained that he had a “championship caliber” defense.
On Saturday, Troxell’s defense took a first step toward a championship. His team opened the Patriot League portion of the schedule with a convincing 24-14 win over Bucknell on Saturday afternoon at the Bison’s Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium in the 100th game between the two schools.
The Leopards defense was instrumental with three interceptions.
With freshman Ryan Schuster likely out for the season with a leg injury, junior Rent Montie got his first start of the season at quarterback and completed 16 of 21 passes for 122 yards. He also ran for two touchdowns.
Defensively, sophomore A.T. Ntantang picked off two passes and returned one 80 yards for a touchdown. Saiku White had seven tackles and DaRon Gilbert and Marco Olivas had six stops apiece. Gilbert also had an interception as Lafayette held Bucknell (0-4) to 307 yards — 108 rushing, 199 passing. Among the key moments by Lafayette was a stop on fourth-and-1 at the Leopards 5 in the first quarter.
Bucknell was 4-for-13 on third-down conversion tries and 1-for-3 on fourth down.
Lafayette defensive lineman Malik Hamm blocked a 40-yard field goal attempt.
One of Bucknell’s two scores came off a short drive set up by a muffed punt return.
Lafayette’s 24 points was a season-high, as were its 259 total yards. It was the Leopards’ second win in as many seasons over the Bison. They won last year’s meeting 27-0 to take a 54-38-6 lead in a series that began in 1883.
Princeton visits Lafayette at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the final nonleague game of the season. The Leopards return to Patriot League action Oct. 22 at home against Holy Cross.
Elsewhere in games involving Patriot League teams on Saturday, No. 20 ranked Fordham beat Georgetown 59-38, No. 10 ranked Holy Cross beat Harvard 30-21, Cornell beat Colgate 34-31 and Monmouth routed Lehigh 35-7.

Perhaps Bucknell will seek to atone for that behavior in the play off game by not having any fans show up on Saturday.

Last year's Bucknell game down in Lewisburg was a blowout. The year before we escaped with a 1 TD victory also at Lewisburg. Have to go all the way back to 2018 to have a home game vs. Bucknell, the atrocious homecoming debacle. I was present for that game and I believe the only Bucknell fans were parents from the New England area. I do not expect many to make the trip to Polar, but who knows? Maybe the thought of having a game in a baseball stadium will cause a few of them to show up. (Or perhaps they will be turned off by the sightlines in a baseball stadium and avoid it all together!)
I can't help but think of Pat Flannery, red in the face, screaming at an official about something, every time I think of Bucknell, even if it is the wrong sport.

There looks to be a total of nine posts on the Bucknell message board relating to football.
I hope we win by 50. If we do, don't think many outside of the program will know or care.

Let's put great numbers on the board against Bucknell and Laffy and see what happens on the 29th.

I wonder if they realize that the score was tied at the time because Buffalo had just kicked a field goal? I hear from some how HC "pulled it out" on that last play. Some think HC came from behind.

Bucky's Homecoming game on Saturday attracted a total of 1300 - arguably this program is worse than GU's
