Again, Coach Chesney is not leaving Holy Cross any time soon. Stop speculating.
Here’s a hint: his 70+ year old father stays 4 months a year in Worcester to be by his son’s side despite his bad back. Their family is “tight” like Kit Hughes’ family.
If you talk to coach Chesney or his Dad, you can literally feel how much they love where he’s at right now.
Sure, someday when the timing and money is right and the kids are older he may move on. Not now. Not next year and probably not until the contract runs out.
Don’t lose sleep over this and don’t waste time on the subject.

In fact, you're speculating by saying he wouldn't leave HC until his contract expires. You have no idea what Chesney would do if a big time program (not MAC, AAC, etc.) knocks at his door.

Maybe I'm concerned he'll read this stuff and put ideas in his head. Let's instead speculate that Brett Nelson is going to get the head coaching job at Creighton and follow his mentor Marcus Blossom?
And while I know nothing more than what you know, SOV, I'd be willing to bet you a small wager with the winnings going to the CAF/Crusader Athletic Fund that BC stays at minimum, 3 more years.

This year (or next) could represent the high point of the program (if you accept the premise that the plethora of HC [Covid] 5th years temporarily puts us on relatively equal footing with the top fifteen FCS teams.) That sort of thing might bother an ultra-competitive/rising trajectory sort of guy. (There were a few Crossporters gobsmacked that he may have eyeballed Delaware last year despite his complete love for Worcester.)

I am not sure people think he is leaving, but I think there are things that can be done to make sure if and when the time comes, the decision is more difficult. Additional investments in football will provide long term benefits for the school.

Hope Murph advises Chesney To leave HC and go to Harvard when Murph leaves?😱 Things change...when Carter and then Duffner were hot items, Ivy football was in a mostly down cycle and I never felt either man was a threat to end up at one of those fine institutions (trademark, BF)
