I view the upcoming game as the last serious roadblock to an undefeated regular season and a first round bye in the playoffs.
And it is against a talented and nationally ranked opponent and PL rival. And (FWIW) is likely to determine the PL champion.
From that perspective, it’s a huge game for us.
(Given that, plus the fact there is every indication of a closely contested and exciting game, I’m assuming the biggest crowd in quite some time at Fitton Field).

The one thing I worry about is the penalties. Emotions will be off the charts - can they refrain from the committing the ones they had last week? The last thing you want to do is to give the Rams a second chance any time they have the ball. Special teams should be huge as well; they need to make Fordham go at least 70 yards plus on every drive.
Was wondering about Tyler Purdy; heard him mentioned on special teams last week, but is he 100%? I immediately thought of him when that tackle eligible pass to Newman went awry. Purdy is so good coming out of the backfield; would be great to have him as another weapon.

Purdy is so good coming out of the backfield; would be great to have him as another weapon. We've definitely missed Purdy in the situations. Interesting to see how we use some of our other weapons. Shorter had the TD on Saturday and Gilliam has been quiet aside from the TD against Bucknell. I thought against Laffy's pressure they could have used some shorter crossing routes with Spencer. I just watched highlights from the Ohio, Lehigh, and Stony Brook games. I do think their secondary is a bit better at least in terms of speed and coverage (maybe not in terms of making plays on the ball). They have a decent pass rush but not anything close to what I saw against Laffayette. I think if SBU had a halfway decent, experienced QB, they would have put up somewhere around 28 points probably. Special teams and field position, as mentioned on here before, could be key. I think Chris Smith will dial up some special offensive plays for us, but I am more curious to see what Scott James dials up on defense. Wouldn't be surprised to see different stunts and d-line plays to put pressure on DeMorat. Flush him out of the pocket and force him to throw it away or throw an int. If we don't have pressure it could be a track meet. That being said, I think we win with defense and special teams on Saturday. Get everyone to go! Wives, children, crazy uncles, creepy neighbors! Invite everyone to Fitton!

Word to the wise, if you are going to the game get there early. Just was told ALL parking around the campus is SOLD OUT! I believe there is going to be a bus service from up top and from some elementary school near by. Fantastic news. 20k!!!

Chesney looking for his 100th win all time.
Fordham rivalry game. You aren't taking our Ram Crusader Cup back that easy!
Crusaders looking for 6 in a row. Haven't lost since Yankee stadium.
Who's the guy that put the Crusader hat on the Ram?

Can prospects/recruits attend the game and connect with the staff and players or is this a dead period
Would be a great game for a recruit or future prospect to attend

Most prospects will be playing on Saturday or Sunday. Maybe some who played on Friday night could come.

My thoughts
We have beaten Fordham 5 straight times. I have been to the last 4 games and hope to get up to Worcester on Saturday.
In each of the 5 games we trailed. 2 were tied at halftime the other 3 we trailed at some point in the second half. In these 5 wins we have dominated the second half.
This year, in 5 of Fordham's 6 wins: 3 games - trailed in the second half 2 games down by 14 points each to Georgetown and Lehigh in the 1Q.
I'm hoping we are the ones that take the early lead and keep it. This Fordham team has shown that they can battle and come back in the second half.
I'm fully confident that if we play our best, we win this game. We need to apply pressure on DeMorat, we do that, we win easily.
Another note, I hear at Fordham's home games they ring some sort of a bell when they win. Only have read about it, never heard it or seen it.

dad-- great points--here are the simple stats that are quite striking
Last Five HC-Fordham games
1st Half
HC 51 Fordham 76
2nd Half
HC 145 Fordham 26
So the composite game would show Fordham leading 15-10 at the half but HC outscoring Fordham 29-5 in the second half to win 39-20

Excellent summary. Yes there is indeed a bell. I believe it is located in the vicinity of the main entrance to Jack Coffey Field and the Rose Hill. Last time I heard it ring was when Fordham's NFL-bound running back was on the team.

I also remember that running back torch us for 4 TD's at the Stadium in 2016. Anyone have an unofficial attendance estimate? Any "friends" in the ticket office with updates? I noticed on the ticket website, home sideline section 4 is sold out and 5 is nearly sold out. Also...we know College Gameday chose the Jackson St. game this weekend for their broadcast, but our game was the no. 3 choice of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for Gameday (why STL? I have no clue): " No. 3: Fordham at Holy CrossLocation: Worcester, Massachusetts Game time, online live stream: Noon CST on Saturday, Oct. 29; ESPN+ Records entering Week 8: Fordham is 6-1 overall, 2-0 Patriot League; Holy Cross is 6-0 overall, 2-0 Patriot League Why "College GameDay" will choose Fordham at Holy Cross football: Holy Cross football's 7-0 start is the team's best start since 1991. Entering games on Oct. 22, Holy Cross is ranked No. 9 by the FCS Coaches Poll, and Fordham is ranked No. 16. The show has never been to a Holy Cross or Fordham game, and it’s only been to the state of Massachusetts four times — most recently in 2014 for a Yale at Harvard game. Why "College GameDay" won't choose Fordham at Holy Cross football: Going just off the FCS rankings, No. 7 Montana at No. 5 Weber State is the biggest FCS game of the week. I went with Fordham/Holy Cross, because the Rams vs. Crusaders game will likely decide the Patriot League champion. While the Big Sky Conference is far from being decided — Weber State has a bigger game against No. 1-ranked Sacramento State on Nov. 5; Montana visits No. 2-ranked Montana State on Nov. 19." www.stltoday.com/sports/college/where-will-espn-college-gameday-go-oct-29-for-college-football-week-9-top-5/article_85602544-1e99-51d4-98dd-d4b204448ef8.html

Crazy that I didn't find a more confident HC bunch here! Glad you guys pulled out the win last week to keep this as the PL match up of the year. Until we can prove otherwise, you guys are and should be prohibitive favorites. This will be the best D we have faced all year, you have a running game that our D struggles with and Chesney always has his team ready for big games. I wrote on AGS that I'm obviously praying for a win but more realistically hoping for a competitive game so that we can make a claim that a team with 1 close FBS loss and 1 competitive loss to a top 5 FCS school should make the playoffs (and that's assuming we're able to run the table after Saturday).
Hope to be there. Sounds like I'll have a heck of a time finding parking but looking forward to a great atmosphere.

Has actually been sold out since last week...had been toying with the idea of driving up for the game and knowing it was Family Weekend I looked to buy parking last week to at least have that option available...there was none, emailed ticket office who confirmed the same and said alternate site info would be released shortly. Apparently some people on here got an email about it, presumably from being on a season ticket, or just ticket purchaser, email...but as an out of state alum I am never buying tix, so do not receive any emails. Unfortunately they do not put information on their website, which I think they should for people like me, or even local people who may make a last minute decision to attend

Living out of state, the HC games I have seen have all been road games..so i was unsure how parking worked. I asked specifically if we could park in upper lots (since website re: football parking is silent as to that) and they did not answer and instead said parking alternatives would be released this week. A. is this info released anywhere other than in an email that some people have referenced? B. in other posters' experience, can we park in the upper lots? I have too long of a trip to want to deal with shuttles to off site parking

Ok just got an email from HC. Parking is available first come first serve at the Hogan and Hart lots. They have alternative lots available at Polar, Auburn Mall, and Packachoag School with shuttles running every 18-20 minutes.
I am planning on arriving super early and going to Hogan and probably walking around the tailgates. If you have to do the shuttles I imagine Auburn Mall is the least desireable as it is the furthest.
So, does this mean they are thinking 20k?

I still feel they should post parking stuff somewhere online other than just through email. Some local father decides to bring his kid to the game after Saturday morning practice may wind up missing part of the game getting turned away from onsite parking and having to then head out to the off site places. I think 15-20K is a decent possibility, although probably on lower side of that range

20K? You're makin' sport. 20K would be fantastic! 13,847 reported for homecoming...between moving up in rankings, matchup with ranked program/traditional rival (not to mention an exciting explosive offense), and this only being second Fitton game of year...all combined with family weekend has me anticipating a sizeable increase over HC crowd, no? Perhaps not 20K but large just the same.
