Last year's league championship game in the Bronx. Or better, last year's second round game at Villanova. Biggest home game since..... Well, technically since Senior Day in 2019 when we needed to beat Georgetown to clinch the Patriot League title and NCAA auto-bid. Since Lafayette in 2009?

The one thing I worry about is the penalties. Emotions will be off the charts - can they refrain from the committing the ones they had last week? The last thing you want to do is to give the Rams a second chance any time they have the ball. Special teams should be huge as well; they need to make Fordham go at least 70 yards plus on every drive. Was wondering about Tyler Purdy; heard him mentioned on special teams last week, but is he 100%? I immediately thought of him when that tackle eligible pass to Newman went awry. Purdy is so good coming out of the backfield; would be great to have him as another weapon. Can't agree with this more. Fordham is very good - HC can't do anything to beat themselves.

Crazy that I didn't find a more confident HC bunch here! Glad you guys pulled out the win last week to keep this as the PL match up of the year. Until we can prove otherwise, you guys are and should be prohibitive favorites. This will be the best D we have faced all year, you have a running game that our D struggles with and Chesney always has his team ready for big games. I wrote on AGS that I'm obviously praying for a win but more realistically hoping for a competitive game so that we can make a claim that a team with 1 close FBS loss and 1 competitive loss to a top 5 FCS school should make the playoffs (and that's assuming we're able to run the table after Saturday). Hope to be there. Sounds like I'll have a heck of a time finding parking but looking forward to a great atmosphere. If HC had lost last week this still would be the game of the year to date because whoever wins on Saturday would be ahead for the auto bid with the head to head win and both teams having one league loss, right? No matter who wins on Saturday it will be very difficult for the other team to snatch the auto bid away. I do hope the Rams can get in the playoffs if they end up 9-2. Just because the bottom five teams in the league are weak this year, the top two have been terrific against OOC foes.

As a back up to espn plus breakdowns is Fordham radio broadcasting this game?
After the past few years of football success you would think we might have local radio coverage

The roadblock for an at-large for Fordham, should they lose to us, is that their BEST win is #57 (Massey) Monmouth. Ouch! BUT, Monmouth may move up (which would help Fordham) and DeMorat is a star and selection committees love stars. Personally, I’d love to see them get an at-large and beat some teams in the tourney.

Continuing to ramble about parking. A dry Thursday and Friday should mean all the lots are open. If we're concerned about crowds necessitating shuttles, imagine if baseball, freshmen, and HoJo's were closed

I'm thinking of getting to campus in the 9 o'clock range hopefully to avoid parking issues.
I just did some more film work. While Fordham definitely runs out of different formations, it seems they run with rhe QB under center and at least one TE on the line more than out of the gun. If I picked up on it, hopefully our coordinators did also. Even Wagner had a couple big passing plays with time in the pocket and single man downfield. FU's d looked sharp against Lehigh getting good pressure on the QB. I find the int's are more opportunistic like the Georgetown qb with a low deflected pass that got tipped to a LB. I think we can run on Fordham easily as well. Wagner and Georgetown had decent runs and a td each, but both were pass heavy it seems. The pressure Fordham gets on the QB varies greatly. Against Ohio they didnt get as much pressure and played pretty soft coverage. Bunch of zone also. Against Lehigh and Wagner they got decent pressure, but Stony Brook looked more like Laffy vs HC. I am concerned about getting to DeMorat. Lehigh got 0 prssure. Even Ohio let him sit back in his chair quite a bit. I did see one film of the pocket collapsing around him and DeMorat running up the middle somewhat adeptly (although not quickly) for a gain. The pressure on DeMorat needs to be there. We need to force him out and make him get rid of the ball quickly. That's one area I worry as one on one we could get burned.

Would love to be wrong but odds are Fordham is putting up 30+ points Saturday so we’d better have the offense firing on more cylinders than last week. Fordham’s defense ain’t what Lafayette’s is but we’re going to need to score in bunches.

Sure a couple of sacks, but any pressure to disrupt his timing and force him out of his comfort zone is crucial. I still trust our D, but maybe under 35 is key

Anyone have odds yet on the game? I just checked Action Network and there are no odds posted yet. I feel like this is an interesting game to handicap. I imagine the O/U would be somewhere around 70-75 points. Number one offense in the country against what should be a great defense and special teams.
