With respect to the repetitive nature of the postings, sometime back someone suggested we adopt the following rule used on the Fordham board Is not. Beyond sensational--their brilliance stands the test of time

Should positive comments about the Princeton offense be discouraged and deleted because they are redundant? Or should critiques of TPTB and coaches of various teams be the only target of the proposed rule?
The absence on the bench for a number of games by our star recruit is something worthy of discussion, I believe. Once it is learned "why" he's not on the bench, the question, "Is he on the bench tonight?", becomes redundant. Then an examination of the reason for it becomes relevant for Board discussion. When Mitch Hahn left there was much discussion of his leaving HC because he was homesick. In fact, his own statements illuminated the prime motive to have been loss of the coaching staff. There was never chastisement for beating a dead horse with a false conclusion. Some have been posting about Mitch Hahn's current play at UNO. Is that redundant or somehow "boring?" To some yes, to others no. If you don't like that topic, don't read it. Ignore the poster. I found it to be a valuable tool. btw, If Tom Brady missed 3 days of practice would that become a legitimate topic on sports discussion sites. Of course it would. Not being an NFL/Pats fan I couldn't give a rats.
Is it rank speculation to posit that TC has become disenchanted with Coach Carmody and the HC basketball program due to his lack of playing time and that he has left the team therefore? No, though I don't agree with this conclusion, it is a fair conclusion. One of the biggest issues star recruits face is lack of playing time as frosh. TC is a star recruit who was not playing. There were about 800 Div1 transfers this year and I suspect the majority were for playing time reasons. Those with that conclusion could post fairly, "I wonder if he's left the team for lack of playing time?" "He's left the team for lack of playing time," would be improper without knowledge. Also, some may "know" the "why" of his leaving and have decided not to post that information. That's fine. But all and all his absence at games is fair comment.

After saying that, didn't Chairman Mao have all those who disagreed with him killed or imprisoned? Seems a bit too harsh for CROSSPORTS, but I could be wrong.

Of all the ways to find out, posting a rhetorical question (on several threads) in CROSSPORTS is probably the least effective way of finding out. Why do you need to know this right now? There are several possibilities: 1. you are trying to make our recruiting and one or more of the coaches look bad 2. you are trying to give a hard time to the poster who saw Tyrone as a sure thing who would play immediately 3. you would rather deflect attention from the positives that have been seen in this team by focusing on someone who has yet to make a serious contribution 4. you have some personal resentment toward Tyler 5. you are a conspiracy theorist and need to have one in play 6. you simply like being annoying and don't care what anyone else says or thinks - you know, the very people you seem to need to ask for information repeatedly on a daily basis. Can you possibly just enjoy tonight's win?

Did anyone figure out what happened with him? Is he on the team? Is he transferring out already?

"I go to Crossports first for my HC basketball scoop."There are several possibilities: 1. you are trying to make our recruiting and one or more of the coaches look bad "May be a silver lining for the coaches." 2. you are trying to give a hard time to the poster who saw Tyrone as a sure thing who would play immediately "I am disappointed that we were led to believe TC was a can't miss." 3. you would rather deflect attention from the positives that have been seen in this team by focusing on someone who has yet to make a serious contribution "Recruiting in this frosh class less than stellar." 4. you have some personal resentment toward Tyler "It ain't Tyler bub; it's Tyrone." 5. you are a conspiracy theorist and need to have one in play "Hardly a conspiracy. Easily answered question." 6. you simply like being annoying and don't care what anyone else says or thinks - you know, the very people you seem to need to ask for information repeatedly on a daily basis. Huh? I have no idea what you are talking about. I simply wanted to know if he was still on the team and if anyone had information on the situation. Yikes.

Is it time to be thinking about adding another scholarship player? Maybe we could add a January 1 transfer? There are some already transferred out. How about putting jahsim Floyd back on the radar?

Yikes.
We did not need to lose any more returning players from next year's roster.
I hope (as 94grad says) this year's class is a lot better than last year's.

Let's make a deal. In the spirit of this board.
No Posts about TC. Unless it goes public via press or social media (and even there make sure it's TC or his family). PM people if you must.
Of course, any post that concentrates solely on the open scholarship is fine. Whatever the reason, he's gone and it's available.

Doubtful.
Wouldn't you need to find a kid who is transferring and gets some sort of papal dispensation not to have to sit a year?

Well a great player is a great player, so if there's one out there they can get, sure. Otherwise, is it worth having that many in one class? Agreed, time to lock the thread
