In related baseball news, Greg DiCenzo was promoted to bench coach of the Guardians AAA affiliate Columbus Clippers last week. Good for him. probably had to give up his love of the bunt.

Former poster and ardent HC baseball fan (HC70) has been in Sugar Land, Texas for the games vs. Purdue this weekend. He reports that a number of newcomers are starting and look pretty good. Also reports that HC baseball will visit Hawaii to play the Rainbow Warriors in 2024. Yes, and he tells me he’ll be going to Hawaii. Sounds like something I’d like to do too.😊

Holy Cross baseball had some support in Texas this weekend! Road Warrior that he is, HC70 made the trek to watch and cheer on the Crusaders in their 4 game series against the Boilermakers! He is also hearing that the Crusaders will be in Hawaii next year! Now that would make for a really nice trip!!!

3 lopsided losses but great to get a W against a Big 10 team. VMI won’t be a pushover next weekend, as they took a game from Miss State this weekend and played them close today.

Southern trips are a great way to further evaluate players and build your team. Ws matter but it is a long season. For us it is about creating the right experience for players, truly developing players, and hope you have a few arms that make you better
