Was hoping a team that dominated the their league could do better than a 15. Says something about the PL.
The rich get richer and the upper tier of the mid majors get squeezed. One team for the A-10 - a league that used to get 3 or 4. Doesn't help that teams from the high point of the A=10 like Temple and Xavier jump to greener pastures

Colgate always gets a touch match up. They won't be a push over though. ESPN talking heads have Texas in the Final Four.

There are only 4-5 conferences we can say the PL is better than...which clearly squares our champ up to be a 15 seed unless they are so good that they are an aberration for our league. The committee apparently did not believe Colgate was that much better than our league.

Atlantic 10 getting closer to the Patriot league . One bid And no bids to the NIT either! Dayton issued a statement saying they were ending their season due to health concerns. The Flyers would have gotten an NIT invite, fwiw.

Only two good wins were against Syracuse and Brown (kind of). Other wins were against Monmouth, Binghamton, and Hartford.

Agreed...I laughed when someone posted that the PL has not held Colgate back...I asked what they accomplished other than the wins against Cuse. I was pointed to last year's tournament loss as well

As SoV posted, it was Colgate’s OOC results that caused their 15 seed, NOT their being in the PL

As SoV posted, it was Colgate’s OOC results that caused their 15 seed, NOT their being in the PL So then you admit they've accomplished nothing, but just that its not the PL's fault? I'm confused

It is true that a stronger PL gives a higher seed, ex Bucknell with Muscala, etc But the OOC is the bigger factor Last season Colgate was a 14(?) based more on their OOC than the PL. Thus the PL did not prevent them from getting a better seed. This season, a 15, based more on their OOC record

As SoV posted, it was Colgate’s OOC results that caused their 15 seed, NOT their being in the PL Losing reasonably close games to teams that are only a rung or two above the PL doesn't gain you much (which is what Colgate did). Good for preparing you for the PL, but not much else. Ya gotta win 'em!

Joe Lunardi Colgate may be the best pure shooting team in this tournament. The Raiders shot the best percentage from 3-point range in the country, led by Oliver Lynch-Daniels (50.3%, leading the country) and Ryan Moffatt (45.7%). That leads to the spacing that lets leading scorer Tucker Richardson create off the bounce.

First of all, Colgate is a good team. I'm rooting for them to win. I think they have a pretty good chance if they are able to play their game and if their shots fall. Relying on the 3 is feast or famine. If they feast, they've got a chance.
The reality is regardless of Colgate's seed, they're going to play a really good team in the first round. They're going to be the underdog. The committee doesn't look at Colgate or anybody coming out of the league as "well it's the Patriot League so we're going to slot them here." That's just not how it works.

Speaking of Colgate, I believe for 35.00, you can watch their game and the other game in their "session" as the NCAA calls it. There are actually 4 sessions across the country you can attend for 13.00-20.00. Most expensive session is in Birmingham. I forget who is in it but it costs 223.00. You pay a lot more if one of the bluebloods is involved.

I suspect the UConn-Iona afternoon session in Albany will be an expensive ticket.
