Thought we might see Spinogatti on 2 deep

Seems like we'll have a nice three-head monster at RB. Fuller the early down bruiser, Purdy the change-of-pace, and Forrest getting reps as needed in between. An equal number of freshmen and sophomores listed (eight apiece). Health will be a big thing for that group. Thankfully, RB is one of the deepest positions on the roster and we go 5-6 deep there.

Three freshmen DL on two-deep. Looks like some overall inexperience there. Inexperience yes but size and telent is there to help a lot this year. DL depth is best its been in last few years As to the first post, sometimes you trade off experience for talent. As to the second post, I've heard multiple interviews with BC in which he extolled the talent of our young players (frosh and sophs) pushing the veterans very hard and he's said the new guys are bigger, stronger, faster than we've had in the past. I have total confidence in Bob and his staff that they will have the right guys playing under the right conditions. "In Bob we trust!"

Makes sense that as you recruit as a longer and longer repeat champion you get more access to better players.

Just went back and looked up Stu Smith from the recruiting and commits threads. Watched some high school highlights. Kids look legit. Maybe slightly slightly undersized but tackles and plays bigger.

He’s put on ~20 lbs since last fall. A legit 195-198 now. He was also an all state wrestler floating between two different weight classes. He looks way different now. 5’11 is actual height but 5’11 198 plenty big enough for FCS Overhang safety.

Defense is the biggest question mark on the team, especially if we are counting on several freshmen to be major contributors. Time will tell…

Are we carrying 102 players on the roster this year? Question How you can manage a roster of that size? Seems to me that there isn’t enough practice time to get a significant number of the kids on the roster any meaningful reps.

They sound - in this Eagle Tribune article - like an impressive team. They will be a good test for HC, but I see the Crusaders as a 2 touchdown favorite

We are talking about 102 vs 96 kids last year 6 kids. 1 extra kid at 6 different positions Not sure it matters much and helps with depth. Really interested to hear about the walk on at RB - Punni. I’ve heard good things from a number of players about him

Wide margins of victory this year need to be the rule v our FCS competition.

Wide margins of victory this year need to be the rule v our FCS competition. How does that work? Do your best players stay in the game to score more TDs after the game is already won Assuming you’re serious, HC won five (of ten) regular season FCS games (Yale, Colgate, Bucknell, Lehigh, Georgetown ) last year by at least 3-4 TDs. So you can watch those games to see how it works. 👍

Playing in a very weak conference pretty much requires us to win all of our conference games in impressive fashion by multiple touchdowns. While our FBS victory over Buffalo last year was impressive, our less than dominant victories over Lafayette (who outplayed us for most of that game) and Bryant clearly worked against us when the FCS playoff seedings were assigned. Whether it’s warranted or not, the Patriot League still has a somewhat dismissive reputation in certain circles nationally.

Margins are nice but as long as they have an undefeated FCS record it will speak for itself!. If they don't give HC a high ranking so be it and HC will prove them wrong in the playoffs.

Clearveaux, Slade then Rivers. Clearveaux has been a stand out in camp. I got that from a VERY reliable source.

While I was NOT your "reliable source," he impressed me in the scrimmage. I didn't have a roster with me and after some impressive running, I asked 8485 and hc16, who had the rosters on their phone who #31 was. Reminded me of Eddie Houghton.

44, sounds like we could see Clearveux getting meaningful snaps this season? If he’s an Eddie Houghton-type, then more of a power back. Currently, Fuller is the only guy that fits that profile.
I wonder how many times we will see a two-back set…which basically becomes three when you include Sluka.

he reminds me a little of a terrific RB from the early 70s.
