You would kill for 2200... I'd settle for 2,199 if it means you're not in attendance I would never give Holy Cross a dime...but been to plenty of games with comp tickets 😅

I’ve instructed the Development Office that if, in the highly unlikely event that you ever did send a dime - and I’m assuming that to be the max of your financial capability, they should return said contribution to you, and I will replace it a thousand-fold.

My company does pretty well for itself thank you very much for your concern.

I am confident with the return of winning ways we could consistently get to the 2,000 level, higher for big games.

Foley, try to follow the bouncing ball. purplenurple specifically said "confident with the return of winning ways we could consistently get to the 2,000 level . . . ." He's talking potential in the future, not what the numbers were in the past. His statement implies (correctly) the immediate past was not "winning ways" and therefore your post shed no light on the subject. And FWIW, 2020 Holy Cross was not in winning ways and we'd all agree that BU game would be an outlier.

No matter if they win or lose.

There's a story, perhaps apocryphal, that a woman seated next to Winston Churchill at a dinner said to him "Sir Winston, you are drunk", to which he said "Yes, madam, but in the morning I shall be sober and you shall still be ugly." In the near future HC men's BB will be a winning program, and Foley will still be a bitter loser whose emotional development was arrested in kindergarten.

Step 1 is to actually return to winning ways. Also I think that has to be done consistently to put fans in the seat, as opposed to a short term bump.
I think consistent winning will improve attendance. I have no clue how much it will improve never mind if that will get is to averaging 2000 or so paying fans. Only time will tell. That being said, I do think it is a greater challenge than it was even during the Coach Willard era. Back in the day, the average person in Worcester read the Telegram and had some idea of how Holy Cross was doing. You didn't need to go looking for that kind of information, it literally showed up on your doorstep. I don't think that is true in 2023. Not only does the team need to return to winning ways, but the average sports fan in Worcester County has to be aware there is a decent D-I program in town.

Siena has lost its last two games by 42 and 20 pts. respectively—- on the road at Richmond and American, apparently without Eley in either game as a result of his injury at the end of the HC-Siena game.

Siena might be bad. Really bad.
Just lost to THE MOUNT 80-48. Also lost to Albany, 86-51. Lost to American, 78-58.
They began the year ranked 268th by Pomeroy and have plummeted to 359th.

They have not broken that number since... Mind-boggling. How times have changed. Back when I was in school, it was noteworthy if a game drew less than 2,000 fans. It would have to be a Wednesday night game against Navy in an ice storm to push the attendance down into the 1,800 range. If I had to guess, I'd say the Hart Center in 2006-2007 averaged somewhere between 2,400 - 2,800. Our last sellout I believe was in January 2017 against BU for winter Homecoming, when the Patriot League tournament championship banner was raised from the year prior. Wonder if that's the longest stretch ever at Hart not to have a sellout, 6+ years and counting.

Eley must have been re-injured; missed several games after HC; played on 11/26 then 2 minutes on 12/1.
