Not a commentary about his play Saturday, but answering the question about last year, he is the team's leading returning scorer from last year I could be the leading scorer in a lot of hypothetical situations... they wouldn't be ones we'd ever want to see a team you're rooting for be in. If we've got nothing better for crunch time minutes, yikes. I saw a number of his games last season and he is a talented player. Does he at times have an "off day" as most players do? Yes. He did have an off day against Georgetown but in no way does he deserve some of the comments about cutting his time at the end of games, or asking "why is he in there?" He is in there because of his past performance in games and practice and because the coaches believe he is someone who SHOULD be in there.

You can bet on it. Some of the PC fans are the nastiest around. Beers and sex toys have been thrown onto the court during games. Player's family have come onto the court from their seats during play. Many Friar fans have for months been slandering Cooley on social media. They want blood. It is certain to get very ugly.
PC fans feel like Cooley broke some crazy rule leaving the Friars. It is the way business is now in college basketball Maybe, but he left for a conference foe and there was talk he was recruiting for G’Town while still at PC.

As the leading scorer returning from last year's squad, it is reasonable to assume opposing coaches are going to make him a point of emphasis, Only saw the last 5 minutes or so of Georgetown, so I can't comment too much, but that was a factor at Siena. I'm not too worried about Batch. He'll be fine

Even when Batch isn't shooting it well and looks overmatched, he still draws attention away from the penetrators. Even on his worst day he serves a purpose for this team.

He had the attention of Siena and Gtown
He will be terrific against some this year, and not so much against others
By next year, with the addition of Boston to create, and Green to deliver mismatches he will be fine.
Watch for Williams and Singleton to grow and develop

In that situation, we have to trust DP to put the player he thinks in that situation can do the job. The previous game, that player was Williams.

Kenney saved it but it went to a Georgetown player who called timeout. I assume the very long time checking it was to determine IF Kenney saved it. Then once that was established, they needed to determine when did the Georgetown player call the timeout. I think the whole 3.7 thing came because the clock operator thought Kenney was out and stopped the clock prematurely. I don't know, but suspect Georgetown had something planned for 3.7 seconds that would have taken longer than 2.1 and failed to regroup and have a 2.1 long ready A lot to unravel in the seconds between Batch's shot and GT calling timeout. Only comment is aren't the refs trying to determine when the timeout was GRANTED as opposed to when it was called by the player? That's a bit harder to determine. And if the issues with the clock mysteriously stopping occurred when Batch's shot hit the rim, you add another degree of difficulty to getting the time right. In the end, a good win, lots still to learn and we're on to Sacred Heart. I think in this case, if Kinney did not save the ball legally, the clock is supposed to stop immediately; whether the player called time out or not is irrelevant. It looks like that part of the review said he did save the ball; therefore the clock stopping reverts to when the time out was called/granted . Having run the clock at high school games for over 30 years, it's easy to make a mistake. However, I'd be embarrassed as hell if I messed up TWICE in the last 30-40 seconds, which might have been the case.

Betting seriously damaged college hoops twice, and with this renewed emphasis, could easily do it again.

Why was that video removed by the "uploader?" I provided the link to the HC vs Georgetown highlights I found last night on You Tube. After seeing your post, I reviewed my search history and no longer can find the video. Must have originated from a disgruntled Hoya Fan. 🤔😳

Why was that video removed by the "uploader?" There was a weird graphical issue that I initially couldn't tell if it was by design or not. The screen would flash and appear grainy/off color. My guess is they're taking it down to fix and reupload (YT does this type of stuff from time to time.)

Thankfully, Batchelder's ill-advised shot, if made, wouldn't have affected the spread. Only way HC bettors could lose is if the game went to OT and then turned into a rout. Which is a crappy way to lose a bet!

Cooley thought he left Holy Cross behind in New England and then found out they were on his welcoming committee in D.C.
