I thought Ed Cooley never wanted to play Holy Cross? At GTown he needs sure wins, which will be hard to come by in the BE, at least for this season. Did not need them at PC If he turns the Hoyas around, he will drop us.

I thought Ed Cooley never wanted to play Holy Cross? Wasn't that his former boss, "Ed" Skinner?

My good buddy from Providence College and I were talking yesterday about just what will happen when Cooley returns to Providence to face the Friars. I believe it will get obscene and ugly

Someone said that tickets are going for $400 and up. It will definitely get ugly.

Hoping for a good showing for the lads tonight. After the football disappointment, watched WPI defeat preseason #7 Williams 77-62. I bet HCDP would have been there if he was around.

My good buddy from Providence College and I were talking yesterday about just what will happen when Cooley returns to Providence to face the Friars. I believe it will get obscene and ugly The whole exercise of community anger seems childish. Anyone who has been following PC basketball knew Ed Cooley was looking--he was asking around at Michigan and later at Maryland before Georgetown opened up. He's not a PC alumnus and his leaving doesn't send the program into a tailspin. The antipathy of this situation is largely directed to the unrequited rivalry with Georgetown-- it's a big deal at PC and most Hoyas fans don't really care about them. Had Cooley gone to Xavier or even St. John's, it wouldn't be as flammable a situation. For the older readers out there--when Cousy took the BC job, what was the response from the HC fan base?

Tech help. Anyone know how to post pictures to crossports from iPhone? I’m at the game. Haven’t had any luck trying.

HC life long fan here but not an alum. I don't recall any bad feelings at all. There was no opening at HC when Cousy was hired in 1963 (Frank Oftring was the coach). Cousy, who lived in Worcester, was recruiting my friend and neighbor (Steve Kelleher) and we all thought that was pretty cool.

OMG, Cousy, my HC idol coaching at BC? Unbelievable. Felt hurt & betrayed. But neither I nor my friends ever hated the great Cousy or hurled insulting words of hatred & contempt. at Cousy. Yes, Cousy was one of our own & we felt lost but we always, admired & in fact still love the great Bob Cousy and always will. Obviously ,in the world of basketball Cooley is a relatively minor figure. Sorry of PC fans but your hideous comments only serve to make you look small time & silly. Not so, HC & the fans of Bob Cousy. Cousy is a beloved giant. We luv' ya' Cooz!

HC shooting 50% from the floor (Bo, 5-6), 3-4 from the line. Hanging with the Hoyas on the boards - Louth with four rebounds in eleven minutes.
Need to clean up the TOs.
