I never use Warren Nolan and have no idea how it is calculated, but I'm not sure how any SOS rankings wouldn't have Bucknell ranked in the same neighborhood as Lafayette and Colgate. Below are the Massey SOS ratings for the PL. Note these ratings include the four league games that have been played, which obviously make the ratings worse for the teams that have played a strong OOC SOS. Colgate 134 Lafayette 149 Bucknell 150 Loyola 275 Boston 290 Lehigh 299 American 307 Holy Cross 309 Navy 323 Army 361 Unfortunately Pomeroy's SOS can't be used because it omits the D3 games played by seven of the PL teams. I missed the Bison at 235 in the Nolan SOS rankings. Next is Lehigh at 304 followed by the remaining 6 well into the 300's capped by AU at 362. Looking at Nolan's page, I see that those SOS figures are from the old NCAA RPI model that the NCAA discontinued a number of years ago. No idea why he still uses it, but in any event it is not very reliable at least until February. Maybe not even then.

Big game (but aren't they all?). A win tonight and we've got a good chance at getting to .500 in the league with Loyola coming to town this weekend.
Going to be interested to see how we defend JVB.

Offensively, I'm hoping Caleb can beat him down the floor a couple of times for dunks like the one on Saturday.
Defensively, gotta think they have to spring some kind of double team action on him. Maybe mix it up a bit. Hoping for a good game at least.

It would be nice if Rabinovich could play 6-8 minutes and donate a few fouls, but I'm not sure if he's physically capable. Has he dressed recently?

In PL games only, Lafayette is tops in just about every defensive category. Their 87.3 defensive efficiency % is best in the league by a wider margin (BU is second at 93.8).

Unlike the O'Hanlon teams, the strength of the Leopards this year is defense, especially in the paint (Opp2FG% - 46%, 49th).
Statistically, they look like a lousy offensive team

Admittedly Colgate is not the team it has been, but considering where Lafayette was projected to be, Laffy’s win over Gate has to be the biggest surprise in the league games thus far. They are 4-0.

I would think so until or unless Colgate gets nicked up with a couple of more losses. Our league is so bad right now it's hard to identify who's the next best team. Laffy or AU? It's a really big game for us to step up or slip back with the league driftwood.

Rabonovich does not have any physical issues that would affect his playing time He did dress the last game, he wears those tights that sometimes get confused for sweat pants. On a related topic, was Jade Tse on the bench? Most likely a DNP/CD, but I didn't spot him.

Tse was not dressed for the last game. (from looking at the TV)
No clue if this is the same issue or different than the one that had him sidelined for most of the year

Nelson liked Wilbar over JVB? Is it an accepted fact that Coach Nelson made no effort to get Vander Baan? We will likely never know Coach Nelson's opinion regarding the two. We do know that Wilbar spent part of a season here and Vander Baan #2 did not. No matter what the coaching staff was thinking, I don't think it's likely that any coaching staff would publicly say, "we wanted "Kid A" but settled for "Kid B". Not a great way to start a relationship with a member of your program It is a fact that Bill Carmody and staff were interested in JVB and called/were in contact with him. It is also a fact that when Carmody left and the Nelson era began, that line of communication ceased and JVB was not contacted by Nelson/staff. One can surmise what one wants as to JVB vs SW, but the two aforementioned facts are true.

If RJ Evans learned one thing from FHCRW, it would be not to go underneath screens. We’ve been burned a few times tonight with defenders going underneath screens. That can’t happen.
