No moral victories but I liked what Bo and Batch brought. Caleb is one of the most improved players over his career that I can remember. I was able to watch the whole game again which wasn’t happening for a while.

My observations of the game:
1. Out of the 5 PL teams we've played there isn't one HC couldn't beat 2. We're getting better 3. I love Caleb Kenney

Joe Octave 7-27 on field goals in last two games but that will certainly improve

Joe Octave 7-27 on field goals in last two games but that will certainly improve I’m not sure. Teams have been challenging to him to shoot from the perimeter, a place where he’s really uncomfortable these days. There were a few occasions he was reluctant to shoot a jumper. That wasn’t the case earlier in the season. He hasn’t shot well from the perimeter since Harvard. I’ve often thought Joe’s game is pretty similar to RJ’s. Have a knack for getting to the basket and using their bodies really well to score against bigger guys. Joe just seems uncomfortable shooting. Hope he finds his shot soon.

I also noticed that Paulsen pulled Batch in favor of Wills on the Lafayette possession when the game was tied at 68. On the previous possession, Pettit beat Batch to the basket for a layup.
This will be an ongoing issue. Need Batch the shooter in there, but can’t have him as a big liability on defense, where he struggles guarding quicker guards on the perimeter.

I see some similarities between RJ and Octave but Octave is a decent three point shooter while RJ was an extremely low percentage shooter from beyond the arc.

RJ was red light his entire career.

Getting better each time out..This team is getting there, just a few plays away from pulling out a win, and Lafeyette is undefeated in the PL... Did HC miss a free throw tonight? I don't remember a miss.. Bo was unstoppable, He is a game changer...Caleb is playing better every night out..
The team D is coming together..Double on Vanderbann each time he put the ball on the floor..I still don't care for defenders going under screens..but it helps defend the pick and roll.. Coach is quick to pull a player who makes a mistake on D, and then talks to them when they come out...ends it with pat on the back..
Still waiting for Nugent to take the ball to the hoop and finish..scoring was pretty well spread out...Laffy plays with confidence.....

He was dressed, coaches decision.. Thanks. Telling. NO foul trouble tonight, and Caleb played great, he was a force out there on both ends of the floor...Ryan subbed in a few minutes in each half, and got a few 3 point shots....

The way we are competing is very encouraging A lot of close losses ..... Looking for a solid win on Saturday versus Loyola at home

Bo had a KenPom O-Rating of 135 vs Lehigh and 124 vs Laf. Believe it or not, that is the first time he has exceeded 120 in back-to-back games in his HC career. Now going for 3 Ina row

Looking for a solid win on Saturday versus Loyola at home Not sure if I would call this a "must win" game, BUT it could be close to that. A loss at home to this Loyola team would certainly not be a sign of continued improvement. I look for a win, feeling we may finally be coming out of the negative two steps forward and one step back cycle...and starting continuing improvement.

I think we will have to accept that driving past quicker defenders will never be a major part of his game.
He does a nice job hitting open threes and going to the defensive boards.
Those seem to be his strengths at this point in his career.

He also defends bigger 4s, avoids both turnovers and usually foul trouble.

As we get better defensively this year the wins will follow. We are getting better, but this will be part of a process.
