FWIW, BC was picked to finish last in the ACC and they smoked us.
We are light years away from being consistently competitive

Now 0-3....near relentless pressure by ND

I think we will certainly compete. ND looks hit or miss this year and we might have a similar game to that of NU. Let's hope we pull off the upset one night and force a split (or heck let's get greedy!) Just stumbled on the game.... All Irish so far in 1st 0-2. They are much faster skaters and are getting to all loose pucks.

Most of us are motivated by what we think is best for HC. Obviously Grandison & other transferees made their decisions based on what they perceived to be in their best interests. They chose what they believed was best for them, not what was best for HC. Why the criticism? Most would gladly welcome a high caliber student athlete who transferred to HC from another school. Never read of any concerns raised about the transfer of Gerrale Gates from UNO to HC. There was not even the slightest hint of any concern about his commitment to UNO. There were no high sounding statements about him abandoning his teammates or the school. His commitment to UNO? Well, I guess that was for him to decide. We were happy he transferred to HC. And, HC has been the beneficiary of other transfers without one word of concern for the other college or his ethics uttered, not a peep.It was his decision. Very well articulated!

At the invitation of a Lehigh grad client, I attended the 63-6 thriller at Goodman.
Remember counting 40-45 HC fans on the visitor grandstand

Wait - did I just see Ignatius post - I'll pass on a 5'9 running back? Wasn't #1 for us a 5'9 running back? He was pretty good. I feel good about Fuller. He’ll be the bell cow moving forward, I hope. We once thought that about Oliver....

So where are 70-80 players from each team getting dressed pregame, meet at halftime and shower/ change postgame?
Presumedly, Polar has normal home/visitor baseball locker rooms accommodating 28-30 players.
Any guesses?

Well that’s sobering, eh?

Appears from the pictures above that the Video Boards and Ribbons have yet to arrive from Brookings SD. Hope that can be installed within the next 40 days to allow for calibrations and adjustments before the seasons begin. Given the national shortage of personnel ( i.e. truck drivers ) it's 50-50 at best.

Yale Gtown Cornell Fordham Harvard - I've picked Yale and Monmouth last two weeks and happily lost; why not keep it going and be wrong again If "dharry" stands for "Dirty Harry" it would be fair to ask "Are you feeling lucky? Well are you punk?" You're not a punk but that's the movie line.🙂 Actually it's " Do you feel lucky ? Well do ya punk ? "

UConn has little to no football appeal outside of Storrs. Nor, does Mass outside of Amherst. FBS football is not in their DNA. BC is the sole true FBS university in New England. BC has the tradition and the market. It is a great mid-sized university. If Fordham ever wanted to move to the FBS (extremely doubtful), they too have the great tradition and market to succeed. The Rams mascot at Fordham is one of the great mascots in college football. And, it is truly a great university,"The Jesuit University off NYC." Unfortunately, they don't have the facilities nor the space at this time. Nor, does there appear to be any added benefit with this move. Both UConn & UMass should return to their Div II roots at the FCS level in the CAA if they would be accepted. (most likely) Holy Cross is in a good place for a school of its size and academics. BC is 4-0 and noone in New England cares....they have zero interest from non alums. And FCS football is NOT D-2. Really ? One of my kids lives in Concord and says that this young coach has definately had an impact thus far in the area. It's evident the campus seems exicited with him too. And his recruiting has been a big improvement. Like Chesney, he's an energetic guy and a great interview. 44,500 last game....been awhile for a sell-out with an opponent not named Notre Dame or Clemson.

Thoughts: Don't ever remember a weekend when PL teams beat three ooc opponents from stronger conferences - yday was Big South, CAA and Ivy - finally a positive weekend Will Gilmore see the door mid-season for the 2nd time ? 101 yards of total offense in a game Lehigh was not competitive vs. Colgate - can't get much worse in Bethlehem Before the league season really gets underway I'm ready to crown co Defensive Players of the Year - Dobbs and Greenhagen - neither should be denied On Nov 13th we probably will play in front of the 2nd sellout of the season in the Bronx when we face Fordham, in a likely championship battle (altho Lafayette might have something to say about that) Lehigh has yet to score a touchdown. Gilmore has to be in trouble.

Navy and Army were informal supporters for PL football scholarships. At quick glance I have no idea what this means....

I know nothing about Yale this year but historically it's generally been ugly.
Chesney needs to show his motivational skills this week after the Merrimack disaster.

Better coach - better players - better facilities = better results = better culture
Nate Pine got the ball rolling.
The harder project of changing the on-campus student culture will take 8-10 years.

Regardless of who they hire, the most important issue to resolve is Coach Chesney’s future contract situation. Priority one must be to do everything we can to keep him in charge of the football program for the immediate future. Anything that falls short of that will be a significant setback for the athletic program IMO. Chesney's next job will pay him a minimum of $600,000. What's he making now ?
