I will not be shedding any tears for him. His body is still warm.

The WNBA should try outdoor games at MLB parks when the home team is away. Set up a court in front of one of the dugouts so 10-20K can have great seats and toss the ball up. Close to city neighborhoods, accessible, fun. The indoor summer game has limitations. Block off the dugout so nobody falls in. This would be more money down the drain. The cost to do all of this wouldn't be made up in ticket sales and concessions.

I'm thinking baseball has been probably the most surprising program during the 2023-24 season.
Right in the thick of it in the PL. Very competitive in the OOC, taking some games against quality teams.
Our run differential is -5 on the season, which is pretty damn good, IMO.
Massive five game series at Army next weekend. I'd probably be happy taking two of the five.

With Miami's bullpen giving up 14 earned runs in 26 innings, I think we'll see DC back with the big club in the not too distant future.

22-6.
Regardless of what happens the rest of the way, we’ve combined to equal our win total from the last two years…at two.

Threw three innings and allowed the placed runner to score in the 12th on a bloop single. Unfortunately, Miami couldn't push one run across for him.
He was very impressive.

Wow. Two scoreless innings from DC. Not easy to do with the placed runner.

Stands the placed runner.
Striking out O’Neill Cruz to start the inning was massive.
In line for the win if Miami can push one across.

Aaaaahhhhh! All this stuff about this & that, student. non-student is too much. I'll put up the current crop of PL. HC true student-athletes against any of these from th "good ole days." Hc is a great school, "sui generis." HC is not Xavier, BC, Villanova, ND, G-Town or like any other college in America - a small national liberal arts Catholic undergraduate only Catholic Jesuit college of the highest academic standards. HC is the flagship of Catholic higher education in America. Can't posters see & understand what we have? And, I don't want to hear any of the foolishness from the bought & paid for USNWR. "Oh, raise thy voice..." You might be biased.

For what it's worth, it looks like our tennis teams have been more competitive than usual.

And what better way to kick things off than with this news --

As the article explains, there were few bids. Yeah, that's not good enough. NCAA needed to be solution-oriented here. Can't be having an NCAA regional at a place that is much smaller than Sacred Heart's rink. Figure it out.

There's still a little bit of purity in FCS, IMO. Would it be the worst thing if basketball split into their own version of FBS and FCS? Yes The top sports’ month in the US is March due to the NCAA championship. Without the chance of Cinderellas from the non power conferences, the appeal of the tournament, including brackets, would be far less. Ever since the tournament expanded from 64 to 68, the big boys have been looking to shove the mid-majors into a locker. They don't care about cinderella. They care about money. Money comes from getting into the tournament. And at the conference level, it's getting as many teams as possible into the tournament. The writing is on the wall and it has been for a while now. We won't see the NCAA Tournament (hell, we won't see an "NCAA" for that much longer, IMO) that features all Division I teams being eligible for it in the future.
