Now that we have basketball and Hockey fan surveys, why isn't there a FOOTBALL survey? Exactly! That way we can all say: FIRE RSIG SECURITY!

Despite the condescending tone from some with a crystal clear agenda, the Railers appear to be doing a pretty damn good job with their community engagement efforts, despite being months away from even playing their first game. Expecting them to just roll over and die after a couple years may be a mistake. Go out on a limb: will the Railers still be in Worcester in, say, five years? The ECHL may not even be around in 5 years............

Ultimately a disappointing season. Need to start winning in the post-season, it has been WAY too long.

Classy move here by HC and Varsity Club:
Kuzniewski served as a chaplain for Holy Cross’ athletic teams for over 20 years. A beloved member of the Holy Cross community for decades, Kuzniewski was regarded for his distinguished scholarship and exceptional teaching, as well as his mentorship and ministry to Holy Cross student-athletes. His guidance and support engendered such gratitude and respect among Holy Cross alumni and student-athletes, that the rowing team named a shell after him and Kuzniewski Field was named in his honor. Kuzniewski celebrated mass each year prior to the Holy Cross Varsity Club’s annual dinner and led the varsity song at the event’s conclusion. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 71.

I will never attend a Railers game. Check out today's T & G and look at the cities in that league. The fans will never come from those places to watch a game in Worcester. We need to fight for a invitation to join Hockey East. The ECHL will only last approximately 2-3 years and then leave the city. +1

I do like the emphasis on rush defense and rush offense. But just like Sarasota said, just words at this moment. Glad to see more from the coach though and the direct messaging to alum and fans.

I have eliminated the Ebay/Lower bell as our bell. Quite a coincidence they are both 1853 Hoopers. I am enlisting his aid among the bell community in my search. I have also reached out to Mr Mahoney (below). He will send me pictures of his stolen bell which I will forward to Mr Lower. Mr Lower purchased his 1853 Hooper in Bar Harbor, Maine, 4-6 years ago. He says he's firm at $10,000. That would be a nice one to replace our bell at some future date. www.woonsocketcall.com/bell-theft-takes-toll-on-owner/article_8acf287e-ff04-5fb4-b665-ea53c0d8558f.htmlHopefully it turns up one day and has not been sold for scrap. Great work!

What a joke. The PC culture we live in now is DISGUSTING! STOP THE MADNESS! But also wouldn't mind if we dissolved crew, although I think they raise a fair amount of money each year.

bigfan, HC acts in its best interests. The interests of the city, Worcester taxpayers, and sports enthusiasts, are secondary. Father Brooks once declared, 'we [HC] are not in the [sports] entertainment business.' Father Brooks has two halls named after him at HC, one more than any other Jesuit. I have not seen anyone yet assert that joining HE will not cost HC more money than playing in the AHL. So how does spending (and losing) more money playing in HE benefit HC? More 'brand' recognition, you say? I can pay two admissions counselors $80,000 a year each,, send them on the road visiting high schools for eight months, pay $200,000 for their travel, and I will guarantee 10x more applications to HC from their outreach than the number of applications emanating from the 'brand' recognition HC gains from playing in HE. Most universities that have been around long enough tend to think in terms of decades, not years, and won't be rushed into making decisions, particularly decisions that will cost them money and for which there may be few discernible benefits. And I would not be surprised in HC's reaction to a HE invite would be more favorably received if HE was not setting criteria about playing in a venue that seats at least 4,000, preferably on-campus. HC, in its mind, does not need HE to have the athletic program that it wants. First of all, the whole idea of the interests of Holy Cross and the City of Worcester are not one in the same is stupid. If Worcester becomes a more livable and desirable place to visit the easier it will be for Holy Cross to attract the kind of students it wants. Second, I still find it hard to believe the powers that be in this city are conspiring against a HE bid on behalf of Cliff Rucker. Sorry, not happening. Unless someone can provide direct quotes from the city manager or Tim Murray or whoever else the conspiracy theorists are putting out there, I don't believe it. Okay a few points: 1.) Worcester is not the reason Holy Cross attracts students. Hate to break it to you. Worcester being more livable and desirable has very little bearing on a students decision to attend Holy Cross. 2.) You can deny it all you want but the fact of the matter is that the city has its hands in Ruckers pockets. You're not going to get a direct quote because they would never publicly admit what is happening. However, from extremely reliable sources, the city (Tim Murray) will back Rucker before any Holy Cross/Hockey East plans. Rucker has first right of refusal for the DCU and Murray is not going to allow another hockey team to compete with Rucker and make him mad. This is not a conspiracy!

Time for HE & HC to join forces and show the City of Worcester hacks that the ECHL will never survive in the city. Point out all of the benefits to the city with the addition of HC and HE playing in the DCU. The fans of BC,BU, Northeastern, Umass, UConn, UNH, Maine & Vermont will come to the city to follow their teams. When the NCAA hockey is at the DCU and Maine & UNH are playing many fans from those schools come to Worcester to support the teams and they spend money in the local establishments. Now is the time for AD Nate Pine to sit down with the Trustees and convince them it's time to move on the HE membership. second part already done. Do you seriously question whether this has all been thought of? As for Ruckers investment please. He is building rinks to make money, not be Andrew Carnegie. And to insinuate HC does less for the city is a joke. Talk to me about how Worcester social service orgs would be without the thousands of hours a semester by HC students well beyond what HC students and families spend locally every year. AMEN!
