Clearly aimed at regaining the Mass Pike trophy I don't think we will win that trophy for at least 3-4 years. Hope I am wrong.....

It's about time HC started attracting (paying) upper echelon assistant coaches. Great work ADNP and HCBC.

I know that handicap accessibility at Fitton has held back major renovations to the stadium. One improvement (lights, locker rooms etc.) and HC would have to pour much more money in to bring it up to code. However, new grass surface does not seem to trigger this mandate. If they used turf do we think that would have been considered an upgrade and would force HC to bring Fitton up to code? I must confess that I do not understand why this seems to have gone on for so long. A local high school had no press box for a few years because of the need to make it accessible when new stands were installed and an elevator was just too costly, especially since no one who had ever used the press box had needed one. The town eventually agreed to waive that requirement and the new res box is a nice one. Is making the overall stadium handicapped accessible really something HC does to want to do? I'm with you. My guess is at some point in the future they will do a complete overhaul of the stadium (will cost a lot of money) and would rather not do it peace-meal. With updates to Hart and the $400M campaign HC is on, my guess is they want to hold off on Fitton until at least the campaign is over.

According to the baseball page's quick facts(no details)the last NCAA appearance was 1978, and before that, the glorious season of 1967: Kelly, McCarthy, Kopec, Sach, etc. As some may recall, we won the regular season in 2013, but lost in the PL tourney. the last NCa tourney win(according to the archive page) was the first game in '78 vs St John's. In the northeast regional. We lost the next two to be eliminated. Sounds like we are due! GO CROSS GO!

rgs has to be commended for being the 'eternal optimist poster'. yes, yesterday's win was a good one against the league leader in lehigh. our senior pitcher, jennifer durham had a great career but had very little run support for her 4 years. not sure things look any better for next year as she was the winning pitcher in 7 of our 8 wins. all of the other pitchers had very tough years. our final record this year was 8-34. i think adnp (if he has the time) might be taking a look at this program. some facts: = in 31 years of playing softball, there has been 'one' winning season (1998) = all time record is 380-906-5 (.296 %) - all time league record is 160-283 (.361 %) i know very few (on campus or off) seem to care, but i think we should be doing better. i hope there's a plan in place, especially to bring in capable pitchers, which is the single most important position in softball. As ADNP has done in the past, my guess is major changes are coming. Results like this are no longer tolerated.

Would love to see the team take home the championship. If memory serves me corretcly, I don't think we have ever won the PL for Baseball. When was the last time the team won their league and advanced to NCAA?

Happy we're playing UMass but it would have been nice to play them in our home opener at the new Hart Center. Hopefully we get another desirable opponent for that game. Unfortunately most of these big programs refuse to play us at home because of the inadequate facilities etc. Especially with all the construction going on. I'd be curious to see once the new Hart is complete if we can get better teams to play us in our own barn.
